i've never understood this, but why on break if you make both solids and stripes you always get left with stripes, even if you make 2 solids and only 1 stripe... this make no sense whatsoever, so i think flyordie needs to make an option to where you can pick if you want to be solids or stripes.. agree?

Actually, according to official rules the table is always open after the break, regardless of whether or not any balls were pocketed. Stripes or solids is determined by the first shot made AFTER the break.
Thats true, its bit of a bummer when you pot the 2 solids and 1 stripe and your stuck with the stripe...but i think its to which ball you pot 1st regardless of how many ball are actually potted!! :D
Magician is right, you choose AFTER the first shot. In FoD if you pot one of each you are given stripes irrelevant of which went down first. It would be nice if this were changed, but I am not holding my breath for a quick fix as they have known about it for a long time.
