Operators...about snooker...WHY????
I'm still not happy about the changes in snooker, but I don't understand why you make it so difficult to play regular snooker. It took me a while to find out what the light rooms were about and even now, a lot of people still don't know about them or if they know they exist, they don't know that regular snooker is played there. When you sign in, you either have the choice of snooker (which is now pro snooker) or Go PRO! New (in red letters)...well, where is the choice to go play regular snooker there? Why are you not telling people about light rooms, are the sponsers against it? Out of every 10 person I talk to, 9 say they don't like the change, who are you doing it for??....just wondering...
9 out of 10 don't like the change? Explain how the New Snooker rooms are full and the Light Rooms are empty? It shouldn't be a rating issue anymore because you do (or did!?) have the option to change your original rating transferred to Snooker Light.
I agree wif you Wizard, the new snooker is much more realistic than snook lite, after all real snooker is aplayed on a 6x12 table, with very tite pockets not a small table like in snook lite, that has like 8 bl pockets
I didn't fancy the change at first.. but it has recently grew on me.

Now i love it :D

The main reasons why most people play the new version are:
1 - people follow ratings, and the ratings moved
2 - not everyone knows about the changes, especially if they come in from outside FoD
3 - when people first found out about the light rooms not many people were in them to play, and therefore people gave up trying
to The Wizard: here are some explanations...

1. A lot of people still don't know about the light rooms, how would they know they could have tranferred their ratings

2. It is harder to find, a lot of people prefer the easy way, first one that comes up

3. even for those who chose to transfer their ratings, it is frustrating to never know the abilities of your opponent, sometimes I play against ppl who are red balls and play like pink...they often are too

4. for some ppl, to have their points taken by what they think are players that aren't as good as them is infuriating... I don't care much for points, that's why I'm still playing in the light rooms, even though my rating in the pro is much higher (I chose to leave it there)

5. when at 8 pm eastern time, there isn't anyone in the light rooms, it discourages ppl from waiting there to have someone to play against

6. and most of all, my main point of dissapointment isn't the change, but the fact that it's hidden, not known from all and not indicated at all on the main page...

If you prefer Pro, it's your choice, it was there before, why wasn't more ppl using it? it was clearly indicated too, still is as a matter of fact...I'm saying that it should now be indicated where the light rooms are and what they are!

correction: they just changed it...lol I guess they realized it didn't make sense to have a special place marked Pro now...oh well, someone is listening a little bit...
> 2. It is harder to find, a lot of people prefer the easy way, first one that comes up

I disagree. I think the scroll bar is clear so I don't understand why people don't scroll down to see what else is available.

> 3. even for those who chose to transfer their ratings, it is frustrating to never know the abilities of your opponent, sometimes I play against ppl who are red balls and play like pink...

I hardly play anymore so I only have an average rating. Does that mean it's unfair that I play with a lower rating than what I should have? Obviously not. Playing with a lower rated name can't sometimes be helped. If someone returns and their only nickname is at 0, the only way they are going to get back up to their level is by playing low rated players (it's not like a pink ball is going to accept challenges from a red ball, is it?). So I disagree with that too. This applies to your point 4 too, it can't be helped SOMETIMES.

To add to that actually, if a player wants to make a new name and they start at 0. Same thing again, they must work their way up. Not everyone checks Player Infos so they are unaware of these new nicknames.

> 5. when at 8 pm eastern time, there isn't anyone in the light rooms, it discourages ppl from waiting there to have someone to play against

This isn't the case for all hours so your just unlucky there. I can get a game easily and I'm not sure how empty the rooms are at that time. There's nothing much you can do about it apart from player earlier/later.

> 6. and most of all, my main point of dissapointment isn't the change, but the fact that it's hidden, not known from all and not indicated at all on the main page...

So it's not so much hidden but I agree with you. FlyOrDie could make it more obvious. An arrangement of the Rooms would be good.

Snooker Room 1
Snooker Light Room 1
Then the remaining rooms...
ur right boo they changed now dont care what happens to light, they put a link on main page in v small font sayin click here for light snooker and now theyve moved that lol. they should advertise it more but i like pro more now.
I agree with you boos, ive been a subscriber for almost a year, my subcription is now due for renewel, i prefer to play in the light rooms because people that i meet in there are far more friendlier, as the rooms are never full ant more i dont see the need to renew. Where was it posted that points could be transfered, i play every day and never saw a thing. If F.O.D feel the need for change thats fine but subcribers should be informed.I play in the pro rooms only if light rooms are quiet.F.O.D should make peolpe aware of their existance and make it more obvious on the log in page.
Screaming!!!!!
It was posted. Here's the link:

They should've had a link from the lobby to that thread. Not everyone knows about forums. My first year (2002) I did not even know forums existed. In 2003 I was wandering the site and found it.

Most people DO know about the light rooms. It's only the new players who are not aware of it.
you get ppl saying that ppl play pro because its more realistic n thats just bs, do u not think if ppl knew that snooker quick was there then thatd be full? i know for a fact it would be coz ther quicker games alot quicker...theres never ANYONE in the maybe 1 or two but never more than 10 players...i think that if they changed pro snooker to snooker quick meanin all 4 main rooms snooker quick then theyd all be ther and normal pro would be empty.
I agree - I would play snooker quick over pro any day, but no one is there. I bet that everyone shows their face in there for a moment and then say "this is pointless, there's never anyone in here" before giving up for good.
wow beppe's agreed with me. :D
Even with the rating swap, there are less and less people in snooker, at its peak, maybe 3 rooms are full, not quite the attendance there use to be...and people are still frustrated in snooker light, so there are less people there too. I still play the regular snooker in the lightrooms whenever I can and I'm still wondering...why???
after a few months:p

im not arguing:) the most popular game is now 8ball, the one i play:D
I find 8ball way easier than 9ball. 9ball is more challenging though without those combos, but its just part of the game, just try not to scratch and you'll be ok. and dont play with a noob
