This seems a real cool game.

But the rating system suxs!

I lost about 5points when I drew...whats with that?:(
happens in all the board games
if you draw and have many more points than your opponent, then you will lose a few
i don't understand why, draw is a tie, meaning nobody wins.
and if the lower rating gets points, than the higher one feels like he's been defeated :D
I'm not subbed to this game either when I should be as I'm subbed to chess:'(
The rule is perfect, it's you that's not.
Live with it..if u drew to someone way lower than you, means u don't deserve to have the ammount of points you had, and the other guy gets credit for drawing with someone higher.
but come on this is like gambling
you play a game, you bet points
if you draw [(in any gambling game) i don't know about board games] there is a "push"
usually pushing goes to doubling your wager
you can accept or decline but nobody wins the first one if it is draw..
heres an example
you're carrying $400 and going to an alley to play ceelo
the other person you're betting against has $20
if you both roll trip 4s you should lose money because you didn't beat him? no! you either push and play again or keep the bet the same and continue..

you see what i'm saying?
It aint like gambling.. here you use ur brain.
And if you take these points as serious as money.. then gl.
hey yo chill with that you went to far
as you can see (if you can read properly) it was an example to make my point
get it? :)
""THE GAME IS GOOD, BUT THE GIVING OF RATING IS UNFAIR,,, IT REALLY SUCKS""

::::::BLINE
The system is good in every game that is a draw between two perfect opponents. For example, when chess is played perfectly by both players, it's a draw. If you have more rating points than someone else, then theoretically you should be able to beat them. If you draw with them, that means you even with him, which means you shouldn't have more points than him.

But for connect 4, if there is a draw, then that means Blue did a good job (might have even played perfectly) and Red did a bad job (made at least 1 error). So Blue should get points, regardless of how many points he or his opponent has. Same with in Gomoku, which should also be won by the first player.
bobmanuel, do you find a need to post in threads 2 years old?
