Unfair Time Control in Checkers
I would like to express my serious concern about the way the time control works in Checkers on FlyOrDie.
I have experienced situations where I was playing my moves very quickly, while my opponent was clearly taking much longer to make theirs. Nevertheless, my clock eventually ran out while my opponent still had more time remaining.
If each player is supposed to have the same amount of time, and each clock is supposed to run only during that player's turn, I simply cannot understand how this can happen.Losing because an opponent plays better is perfectly fair. Losing because of a timer that does not appear to reflect the actual time taken by each player is not.I am not claiming to know what causes this — whether it is a technical problem, server synchronization, latency, or something else — but from a player's point of view, the system appears unfair and seriously undermines confidence in the game.
I would therefore appreciate a clear explanation from FlyOrDie about exactly how the timer is calculated and why a player who consistently moves faster can nevertheless run out of time before an opponent who is visibly taking longer.
A competitive game must have transparent and equal rules for everyone.
