Remembering FlyOrDie Darts
I recently uploaded this video as a tribute to the original FlyOrDie Darts and wanted to share it with the community:
https://www.youtube.com/live/A1EnZmKKiXA

The gameplay in this video was actually recorded in 2024 during a Darts Cricket match. By then, only a handful of people could still play because the game relied on the old NPAPI browser plugin. And yes, before anyone comments on my aim... I definitely wasn't playing like I did back in the day with my old €6 A4Tech mouse. Somehow, my €150 mouse didn't make me a better player. :)

I'd like to dedicate this video to the old FlyOrDie Darts, where I spent a big part of my childhood between around 2008 and 2013. It's a shame the game was never brought over to the new platform, but the memories are still there.
I also want to thank OPERATOR for keeping the game under control, even when I was one of the people making his job harder. Back then we weren't exactly friends, but looking back now, I understand why he did what he did. I'd also like to thank dshk and everyone else who worked on the game and made those years possible.
As a kid I was pretty immature. I got banned more times than I'd like to admit, and at the time I always thought it was unfair. Looking back almost twenty years later, I can honestly say every ban was deserved, whether I was a paying member or not.
This is also where I met a girl named Lilla. What started as a simple friendship somehow turned into a full-blown soap opera, and we even ended up meeting in real life. I'm pretty sure OPERATOR had a good laugh watching all the drama unfold because I probably gave him plenty of reasons to stay online, even late at night.
For me, 2013 was the end of my Darts years. After that I mostly played Gomoku, so I don't really count those years as part of my Darts story.
In this video, Big Boss was one of the best players around. I was a solid player too. Some days I played really well, other days not so much, but I could usually hold my own. Except, of course, when OPERATOR "changed you know what" and suddenly every loss became a skill issue. :)
There are so many memories that a few paragraphs can't possibly cover. Thank you to everyone who ran the site, developed the game, and helped build such a great community. Looking back, I also appreciate that you helped keep the place safe for kids like me, even if I didn't realize it at the time.
If FlyOrDie Darts ever comes back, I'd happily help test it. It would be great to see a new generation make the same kind of memories we did.
