Claim a Draw ?
I've been here a long time and never has an opponent claimed a draw ? Is this something new with the new format ? How can one just claim it's a draw ? I was a man up and needed to make a few moves and I would have won. He claimed a draw !
Hello tableman,
The rules have been updated lately :
https://www.flyordie.com/checkers/rules

Draw
The game is drawn when there is no capture or promotion to king for 50 pairs of consecutive moves.
The game is drawn automatically if there is no winner after 300 moves (150 each).

Please see also the very detailed explanation provided by FlyOrDie "DEVELOPER".

Okay thank you, I've seen many games declared a draw but this one said my opponent claimed a draw. That didn't look right.
Agree. Had it happen to me too. Just a few more moves and I had my opponent. He claimed the draw somehow. Do not like it.
My post was about the wording. Claiming a draw doesn't sound right. Declaring or just calling it a draw sounds better. The 50 moves to a draw is better than the 40 moves and I don't know how to begin to think about 300 moves. It's still the best place to play checkers though !
