I don't get it either, but it appears you loose points every day you don't play. I was at 3 last night, logged on this morning at was at 2.

Really is to bad, cause its hard to get 100 pt people to play me and thats about where my skill level is.

I think that's an incentive to play, one point per day up to four points I think depending on your rating.

Perhaps you can log in each day, even if you don't have time to play, even if you don't intend on playing. 

@mark, just logging in won't do it you have to play at least one match/day or lose points. I was told it was to keep people from sitting on high rating.They have to keep playing to keep rating at least that's the logic behind it.
