Physics Engine Problem
I just thought I'd point out a realism issue with the physics engine... it'd be great if it could get changed.

In the game when you throw heavy take-out weight at a stone and make a nose hit, the shooter continues to slide forward a bit, sometimes as much as a rock's width. In real life this does not happen - when a nose hit is made the shooter transfers ALL its kinetic energy to the other rock and stops dead.

It would be nice if this could get changed because how it is now makes freezing stones against other ones not nearly as effective as it is in real life, since both stones get pushed back on a hit. In real life the frozen stone would stay put.
in real life you freeze your butt of while playing .In real life a game is 8 or 10 ends. This isnt real life.
Yea, this issue has been pointed out several times, but it has yet to be addressed.

There seems to be a general issue of friction in-between-rocks that isn't very realistic. Too much energy gets lost on big weight shots, while too much is conserved on the back-ring/hack weight shots. Very make-able double take-outs becomes to flat, while the steep angle doubles that are supposed to be near-impossible are too easy. To me it seems like the friction between rocks have been simulated all too much to look like that of pool balls, while the actual friction between granite rocks should be much higher.

I for one, would love to see this game become even more realistic. It is already the best online simulator available, and lots of real life curlers play it. But the tendency is that it's tough to hold on too all the real-lifers, leaving for some reason a bunch of eastern Europeans and south Americans... It's a petty, and part of the reason is that the physics deviation makes tactical dispositions quite different from real curling.

Curling stones are gliding granite rocks, not rolling pool balls!
The physics of the game has been adjusted somewhat according to your feedback.

OP
i think the adjustment is good, thank you
I couldn,t find any problem with the way it was just don/t throw with full power
I seeing alot of rotation on stones after theyre hit.
In real life stone DO rotate into the rings
I think that the adjustment is too much, the stones aren't bouncing enough off the stone when you hit it on the side. You need to change it back a bit.
why do the rocks curl so much on take-outs or curl so muchwhen you sweep the heavier shots
OPERATOR, thanks for the adjustment! It is much better
I agree. The adjustment is much better! Thank you and good job!
Well done, certainly an improvement!

A curling simulator should of course try to get as close to real high level curling as possible. It's obviously not perfect yet, but it's slowly, but steady, getting there!
