I totally agree with hokej, I have perhaps an even better example than hokej listed.
I played a 10 end skins game vs bonobo57, 300+ rating. I was rated 485.
The game turned into a rather boring game because bonobo57 didn't play too well. The game ended 29.5 - 1.5. This result gave me 14 rating points added to my rating.
If I would put 19.5 - 1.5 in the rating calculator (would be 8 end skins), I would end up with 13 rating points added. As far as I can calculate then it is a 1 point added to rating when scoring 10 points in the game.
Conclusion. If I play more than 6 end skins the game will only be a question of if I will lose 1 of the remaining ends, and the gain of winning the last 10/16 points gives at most 5 rating points gained. The loss is 5 times as high.
If I did a 6 end skins game I would end up with 24.5-6.5. This result in the rating calculator will add 4 rating points to my rating.
Another conclusion: I have 4 times as many points as bonobo and score only 4 rating points.
Do you not think this is unfair? Its not a question of if I win any ends but how many I lose.
The fact that rating points are not added as before when we get higher scores stops people from playing 8 or 10 ends (at least if its skins).
