Dear Moderators
It says 'Wenbo' not 'Wembo'

Close but no cigar. Play the game, forget about other peoples names.
Well its not same...Ur Wembo but Him Wenbo :) Not big but difference :)
First of all, these "name forging" topics are becoming boring and pathetic.

Secondly, the two names here don't even have the same spelling, you've spelled the name wrong, therefore how can the second name be forged?

Thirdly, Liang Wenbo is a professional snooker player, you can only expect that multiple people will create a nick similar to his name. Perhaps try something more original?
lol its completely dif name:|
It is getting really sad, how many 'Steve Davis' nicks do you think are out there ? how many 'Mark Selby' nicks 'Mark Williams'? theres also lots of 'scottys' but i dont care, its pathetic getting someone banned becuase there nick looks like yours, seriously grow up.
To Paralyzed, are you initiating that the rules of flyordie are pathetic ?
he did the right thing. Lets suggest that your name was copied or a similar nik was made to your's ? You think you would just let be ? I doubt it. Sooner or later it would get on your nerves.

And as it states in the RULES on niks as follows >

"1.1 is similar to another nick already existing on the FlyOrDie forum or games.

All such names will be deleted and made unregisterable. "

Read the rule's paralyzed, then think before you post.

If your having trouble finding the RULES ! ! scroll down to the bottom of your reply page and click moderation. And walaaaaa there you have the rules ;-)

But a person who has 600 + posts to there name should have no trouble at all.
Considering the two names in question here aren't even similar, never mind identical.

Like I said before Stoichkov, it's not exactly an original name is it!

As for someone copying my name, if someone decided to do that, let them be, it's their own life they're wasting, not mine. It's happened to me before on one of my old names, did I whine and cry about it in the forum? Don't think so sunshine.

But people like you are always trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.
>To Paralyzed, are you initiating that the rules of flyordie are pathetic ?

I'm not Paralyzed but I will suggest that some of the rules on here are pathetic (or more accurately too ambiguous). :) The rule in question (1.1) is hardly easy to define. What exactly is
similar
? Is it that the nickname is the same except for a small dash of an alt code? Is a name similar when it is a celebrity that a lot of other nicknames will represent?

Last night I saw a lot of new "Obama08, BarackObama" type names being created.... should all but the original be removed?

Look how many "Steve Davis" nicknames are on this site... should FOD remove all but the original? I would say (And most of the moderators probably would agree) that such names which have been created (As Paralyzed and Scotty have rightly said) as "fan" nicknames to snooker players have no issue of being copies.

Another point is that who is to know if there is another name out there that is similar to you? How would you feel if you found out someone had the name Stoichkov registered before you and they decided to try and get your name removed? If FOD want to implement the rule effectively then they need to sort out a system which says whether a nickname is a "close" copy of one currently on the database (Which in my opinion would be near impossible.)

It
can
become an issue of course. If someone makes a copy of your name, goes around abusing people and pretends they are the original account then that's an enitrely different matter.

And if you want a decent debate about an issue (You seem like an intelligent fellow) then is there any need for comments like:

If your having trouble finding the RULES ! ! scroll down to the bottom of your reply page and click moderation. And walaaaaa there you have the rules.

Martin (Paralyzed) has been on this site for longer than most and knows a great deal about the issues on here and when he posts, he gets straight to the point (Unlike me, as you can see :p) and is correct with nearly everything he says..... there really is no point trying to patronise his knowledge on this forum ;)
STOĪCHKOV why always u are getting at some one??? Ur think or so smart or what??? He just gived HES opinion...He didnt say that to u...And This nick is not similar :) U also look what u post :)
chris you sound like an intelligent chap your self. Thanks.

If anyone has a name similar with my name or the same please come foward now so everybody can see it ;-) .

If I offended you in anyway -Paralyzed- , I'l put my hand up and say im sorry for it. I was just stateing that you have posted 600+ times so you should not have trouble finding the rules.

And at the end of the day i was going along with what i believe is right and i will continue to do so, If nobody likes it then tough.

Then again if another name like my name is found then im in trouble ;-).
It's tough but thats life.

The two names are sufficiently different for them NOT to be considered clones.
>And at the end of the day i was going along with what i believe is right and i will continue to do so, If nobody likes it then tough.

Well, speaking for myself, it isn't the case of not 'liking' what you say, I just have a different viewpoint which is what a forum is used for :p

>Then again if another name like my name is found then im in trouble

and yes that may be true but you would still feel annoyed by the fact FOD didn't somehow "warn" you that the name is too similar to another.

As Veriac above posted, the name isn't similar enough to be defined as a clone. But what you said brought up an interesting issue of how subjective certain rules can be. What you see as similar may not be what I see as similar, and essentially it's FOD that hasn't explained the rule clear enough. Rules such as the one being discussed need to be looked at and greater emphasis put on what
similar
is exactly. Ambiguity among rules isn't something that I'd personally recommend... :)
