Beat The Intro ...The Forum Version
Okay, I've been playing a game called "Beat the Intro" on DVD recently so I thought I'd do a similar sort of thing on here....

It's just a bit of fun to test your musical brains. I might only be 18 but I have a pretty broad musical taste so this should suit people who listen to various eras :)

The Rules

- I will post 5 different song intros, one from each decade between the 60's and now.

- I will give a decent portion of the intro (Obviously some songs have longer intros than others)

- Post your answers in this topic - preferably with the template below, it will make it easier for me to keep track of who answered what first :D

60's Song - (Type answer here or leave blank)
70's Song -
80's song -
90's song -
00's song -

- Only those who post the correct artist
and
the song title will be seen as having the 'right answer'

- Don't say my song choices are rubbish, the songs chosen are ones that I have on my computer at the moment, deal with it :p

- I will do another round when all current songs have been guessed correctly, if there is a song that no one can guess within a time period then I'll give some clues/hints.

- This is just for fun and aimed at anyone who likes music, there will be some easy songs, and some hard. Not every song is a popular musical 'hit'. I will feature some songs by mainstream artists that aren't well known to those who just know the artist vaguely.

I think that's it, so here's the first 5 click on the decade and the song should play straight away, hold "Ctrl" while you press on the link to open it in a new window.

(N.B. I think the intros use quicktime to play, so make sure you have it installed or it probably won't work.)

Enjoy :D

's.mp3]60's song

's.mp3]70's song
/url] - Used to be my mobile phone ringtone, so the memories of having to wake up at 7am to this song means that I don't tend to enjoy it anymore when I hear it :p

's.mp3]80's song
/url] - My favourite song by this artist, but not necessarily one of the biggest the artist did. Also one of my favourite songs of all time :D

[url=

's.mp3]90's song
/url] - Should be quite easy for anyone who follows this group, or anyone who knows a few amazing songs.

's.mp3]00's song

Good luck

I'll try and check the topic as often as possible but obviously there may be times when I can't check it for a few days or so due to things I might be doing in the real world.

80's Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms.

Can still see the little starving children.

:|
:O it says the song title and artist on the link somewhere?

Where abouts exactly, when I try the links out myself it doesn't say title or artist, I'm not sure why some do that and some don't because I'm doing exactly the same thing for each intro :p
Okay I think I figured it out, I uninstalled quicktime and found out that you can play links through windows media player (Which is what I assume some of you have also done). Some of the songs show the artist/name/ of track (Something to do with the labels of an /mp3 extension in propertie>advanced which I can't seem to edit.)

Next time I'll try uploading as .wav extensions instead as it seems to not do the artist thing. The only problem is they are bigger in size than .mp3.

I wish someone had told me sooner :p
90's radiohead - karma police

eaaaasy
