the only one that should be ashamed for being human is sadam. not any of us, as soon as he is gone his,own people will know this was all of us,them and the rest of the world
I can never justify a war, any war, any place, any time cause it's always the civilians who suffer the consequences, and I'm saying this cause I experienced a war myself. Now 8 years after the war ended in Balkans, nothing has changed for the better. International community is still giving support to politicians who only care about filling thier own pockets and who are nothing different than the politicians who had started the war in the first place. War has wrecked Yugoslavia and most of the seperate countries that have come instead will need at least a couple of decennia just to come to the point where they were before the war started. I understand the suffering of Iraqi people living under that regime but we needed to give a greater chance to diplomacy. And not just by sending a few UN weapon inspectors but by a greater presence in that region making people aware of the situation they are living in and supporting them to pressure the country's leader to step down. Remember, a will for a better future has to come from people themselves so it would be sustainable and not by destruction and violence from outside. War was not necessary in the Balkans neither I think it is necessary now.
As we all know there will always be casulties during a conflict such as the one going on in the gulf.But what you have got to understand is that there is thousands of men women and children dieing each year under the rule of this tyrant and he must be stopped in my opinion.As for britain being the only european country to support this conflict i always thought spain was in europe ;).As for the anti war protesters they have every right to protest i mean aint we fighting for freedom? lets just pray its over as soon as possible with as little loss of life as possible
To All u anti war people.As bad as war is,sometimes it's the only option to free a nation ruled by an absolute nutter who poses not only a threat to his own people but to the rest of us.....by the way... i expect Saddam to be sharing breakfast with bin l'den by tomorrow...cowards run and leave other people to suffer

If you read what I put properly, I did not say that I agreed or disagreed with the war, I stated that it was not a political posting, just one from a human being with feelings. Sometimes you have to have a war to stop war, have you not heard of the saying, 'A war to stop all wars'. Why am I ashamed to be british at the moment... it wouldn't matter where I came from at the moment, Britain, America, Spain, Iraq, Japan etc, I am ashamed to be human, it was 'us' humans that made bombs in the first place. Its about time this whole world learnt the meaning of Peace, love and respect for for fellow men.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, however HOW DO YOU THINK PEACE WAS ESTABLISHED IN THE FIRST PLACE...not by letting foolish dictators run wild, but yes kalico war is not fun but sometimes necessary for people to "live agian" (your words)

Why are you shamed to be British? We will be getting rid of a dictator that massacres his own people, forget the other reasons of oil and other tosh like that (however true they will be) getting rid of Saddam is the main point and a good one at that. It will hopefully be the end of an era of terror for the Iraqi people, and maybe this Bush will actually give support for the creation of a democracy in Iraq.
What do other people think of this topic? I understand Don why u might not agree with kalico and I however think of all those innocent civilians who will be hurt and killed. As far as I know America does not have the support of any of its European allies, except for Britain and a war in Iraq would do more hard than good in my opinion. ;)
