I agree with kebab here... if your hand hurts so much that you can't break, are you really able to play the game at all? What happens if you need to hit a hard shot? Also, why pot the white when you can just tap it and avoid having to move your arm re-aiming? I'm not going to bother reading up right now, but I think the rules give the opponent the chance to carry on BIH or force the opponent into a rebreak. Either FoD changes their rules to incorporate the real rules or they don't. As it is, a foul break is just BIH and we have to deal with that. Remember that we
choose
to play this game, and after making our thoughts heard it's up to FoD to choose the rules.
Or you could have used arm power instead, not moving your wrist. Personally I think this was an invented story to argue the other side :p correct me if im wrong :p
Actually, this situation came in handy for me this week. I recently had a small "accident" with my hand, making it impossible to hit the ball hard. I simply potted the white on the break rather than hurt my hand. The other person then broke as normal and the game carried on without a hitch. Its worth remembering that occasionally a player might need to do something like that, although generally speaking i would recommend they at least tell the opponent first so its not a surprise to them.
We could introduce the actual rule: if player A fouls, player B gets the choice to play on with ball in hand, rerack and opponent breaks, or rerack and he breaks. Oh wait that solves nothing. Ignore me... :8}
Thats not a good idea. If we have this rule in 8-ball, people start to snooker you all the time, like some people in 9-ball.
Why not introduce the "3 foul out" rule to eight ball? I know thats not how its played in a real life game, but in a real game you dont usually have this problem ;\
I absolutley
HATE
that....its your break.......So break :|.....I think that if the player pots the white deliberatly to pass the break....then the oppsite player should get 2 shots....

Wrong, I like where that idea was going. There's something there that could be developed.
Yea, I've had a couple of people do that to me here and there. It doesn't really make that big of a difference in a game, at least for me. I understand its annoying though. I wonder if there is a way for player A to actually have to break and not pocket from the get go. Maybe if player A pockets from the start, in resistant to breaking, then player B can break and then also have ball in hand. I dunno. Nobody here ever likes my ideas anyway :)
