TANX WHATS IT ABOUT?
FUN, THE GAME IS SUPPOSED TO BE ENJOYABLE WIN/LOSE. BUT I HAVE NEWS ITIS NOT FUN TO PLAY WHEN YOU REALLY DO NOT EVEN GET STARTED TO.I WAS SADDLY MISTAKEN TO THINK THAT THE GAME TANKS WAS ABOUT BATTLE,STRATEGY & THE OPPERTUNITY TO INTEREACT WITH OTHER MEMBERS. BUT WHEN THIER ARE SO MANY JUMPER ITS HARD FOR ME TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THE GAME IS ABOUT. SO INLIGHTEN ME TELL ME WHAT THE GAME IS ABOUT? ISIT TO START A OP MAKE ONE KILL & LEAP OUT IF THAT IS THE CASE IT SHOULD BE CALLED (
KILLER FROGS)
Re: Spooky

Heh... I had a nifty-keen Confucian quote but I couldn't remember the phrasing (as is usually the case with my sieve-like mind)... something the responsibility of rulers...

Anyway, about me... the kind of column you're talking about already exists in abundance on the net. If any of my philosophicisms had any strength they'd be put there, not on a game forum full of kids and disinterested parties. I really should just shut up, considering that I don't even play Tanx so much anymore... got to get another home page...
hey guys....
if it's any re-assurance...... I have been advised that the developers are currently working on "anti-jumping" additions to the TANX game program......I'm not exactly sure how it will work yet.... but I do know the penalties for jumping will be EXTREMELY severe and basically make jumping a thing of the past....eg: removal of LARGE amounts of points from a player that jumps out of an operation.....it's really sad that the time and effort of the developers has to be directed to this problem instead of other things but....it is in progress.... and will virtually eliminate the un-sportsmanlike behavior we see at TANX....

Hey striker sorry to hear of your disapointment i have troubles sometimes, with the times i play at the moment the players are true gentlemen and just want to kill kill kill.Hound from hell you are very near philosophical with great thought put towards your replies. We could start a Confucius style column here at tanx like ...Some tanx players are not true tanx players if they are truely a killer frog ..or ..one who steps on to the green is only measured by their greatness if they stay to seek praise..or..If you fear the forum you should walk straight to the game.Isnt it great to have a place with so many variations of opinion ,it gives this forum colour.
For anyone who hasn't read my take on things, my usual banter is included below... for everyone else, my point's at the top.

Answer to your rhetorical: Overcoming the challenge, not overcoming the competition. There's a difference between the two.

Killer Frogs is a deadly boring game. It doesn't look like anyone really cares if Tanx comes back or not... and the only time we hear anything about it is when someone wants to insult other players, even if it's veiled, or to make other peoples achievments look less important somehow.

--------

As you know, striker, people play to win. Used to be that there were lots of players like, say, bomb2win, who played for the challenge, but they left, and all the people who didn't play for the challenge of the game, instead to win by whatever means they could get away with, were still there... add the more recent version of tanks where it is increadibly easy to die, and the heart of the game's been ripped out. When the heart complained, it was spat on, then ground into the earth by the oportunisticly minded players.

Tanx isn't a war, it's a game. The point of any game is in the enjoyment of said... anyone can win by the methods high ranked tanks use to get where they are... but in so doing it isn't tanx, instead "killer frogs".
