Tournament un-successful?
I have to admit I was quite disappointed to see
that the tournament this evening (wed)
was nothing more than a jump-a-thon.
pretty sad when seasoned players appear to be so pre-occupied with ratings
that they cannot play competitively anymore.
if there was an award offered for operation jumping
I'm fairly sure they would run out of medals for this one.

I really agree and know where you coming from. First of all flyordie come up with good ideas but never get them right and then they have more work to do. I was dissapointed to have much lag and couldnt shoot or move all tru the game. I only played 25 minutes then i gave up. Im pretty sure that was my last tournament. Lets talk about the jumpers now. These jumpers get me so mad. They come in a room and shoot you then leave then your back to 0. Save your medals flyordie and give everyone there money back. This game is getting worse by the day. And fix that stupid lag you bring to the rooms....before you do something next time.
What made me excited about todays tournament was the turn out and to have people to play ,sorry i could'nt provide more time this goes to my kids when they wake up.Thanks for sticking with me in the room and giving me a game Max it is appreciated. As Ghost says there is a fair bit of moving around going on, thought i was just unpopular, to look up and there is 2 players left in a room when your points are low. Thanks people when i was up around 45 points they were triping over to play me. Still this was the first time i played a tournament, guess youve got to play a few to learn the ropes.
Here is what needs to happen......this will stop B.S. like what Ghost is talking about. EVERY Sunday at midnight....reset ALL points to ZERO. THIS will stop those that jump and such to get huge points from then just sitting on them forever without playing.

The ONLY way to solve the jumping problem is to start BANNING jumpers. It's easy to prove who the jumpers are...I can name FIVE right off the top of my head. For proof, if three people say they saw a person jump, then it should be taken as truth and that person banned temporarily. On a third offense, remove them from the server. It's as simple as that.

Until Fly Or Die finally takes the hard-line against cheaters, the game will continue to be plagued by these issues.
 Hey,

The tourney last night was a good idea. Too bad it turned out the way it did. I had a blast literally in my furst one. I was beaten severely but most played a hard game. Its not the game that is a letdown, its the few players that just are point hungry. I'm sure Flyordie can address this. I dont even look at the top players list its a ....oh well , LETS PLAY TANX.

There were jumpers at the tournament? That's odd. Take any jumper's medal away. If they got one and is a jumper, he or she does not deserve it. Not in my world. And banning might not solve the problem. They just get a new user name like their original name and use that. It's odd, eh? To jump in a tournament, that's really
STUPID
!!! Don't you agree?
I missed the tournament, but I still think that with some simple changes to the game that jumping would end as we know it.

If not for the regular game, perhaps this should at least be done for tournaments:

There needs to be a setable limit on the number of kills or loses you must have before you can eject from a room without losing points.

The optimal way for this to be done, would be for the first user in a room to set up it's ground rules. (ie the number of kills/loses you must have before ejecting) Perhaps during a tournament, there is a set number per room that everyone must follow.

Also, to keep people from cheating this system: If you eject from a room you should not be allowed to re-enter another room for a set number of minutes.

If you lose connection to a room, then it's the same as ejecting and you lose points. (but you are given one freebie per week or month in case you have connection problems)

And finally, the rating system should be changed, so that a user does not continually get points from an inferior opponet. This is to stop point banking. Say I kill your tank 5 times and you don't hit me once. Why give me more experience points when you are not a worthy opponent?

I think when these things are done, the game will become fun to the masses again. What used to make the game fun, was the thought of going into a room, and playing a game for at least 15 minuts and enjoying it.

And flyordie, if you have time, rework the rules of the snow-room to prevent banking.

Sorry I'm long winded, but I'm just ticked off to see this still happening.
