I missed the tournament, but I still think that with some simple changes to the game that jumping would end as we know it.
If not for the regular game, perhaps this should at least be done for tournaments:
There needs to be a setable limit on the number of kills or loses you must have before you can eject from a room without losing points.
The optimal way for this to be done, would be for the first user in a room to set up it's ground rules. (ie the number of kills/loses you must have before ejecting) Perhaps during a tournament, there is a set number per room that everyone must follow.
Also, to keep people from cheating this system: If you eject from a room you should not be allowed to re-enter another room for a set number of minutes.
If you lose connection to a room, then it's the same as ejecting and you lose points. (but you are given one freebie per week or month in case you have connection problems)
And finally, the rating system should be changed, so that a user does not continually get points from an inferior opponet. This is to stop point banking. Say I kill your tank 5 times and you don't hit me once. Why give me more experience points when you are not a worthy opponent?
I think when these things are done, the game will become fun to the masses again. What used to make the game fun, was the thought of going into a room, and playing a game for at least 15 minuts and enjoying it.
And flyordie, if you have time, rework the rules of the snow-room to prevent banking.
Sorry I'm long winded, but I'm just ticked off to see this still happening.
