Vampires, ghouls, werwolves, ghosts...and hundreds of cryptid and sinister creatures in folklore worldwide came from somewhere, could be hearsay, farytales, legends.. Some are true events that took place in the same city, then generation to others, the reality of these events been replaced by fake ones.

The best example of alteration of a true event is the story of vampire. Originally it was what we call today a serial killer. Vlad the Impaler as an event antagonist was less attractive than Vampires because people of then were more attracted by romance than drama and mass killings.

Historically, at Romans times, during moon phases, the gravity of the moon pulls blood presure of Roman citizens making them angrier and mad behaviours resulting from it, made everyone witnessing these, as they were becoming beasts. Then the beast image was changed to wolves. Lycaonthropia is the name of this Roman madness.
