Hello Developers.

I would like to suggest a feature that could improve communication across FlyOrDie and create a stronger sense of community: a Private Messaging system between users.

Suggestion

When viewing a player’s profile, there is already a menu icon (three lines).  It could be useful if this menu included a “Send Message” option.

This would allow users to contact one another directly for friendly and practical reasons such as:

- Arranging games or rematches
- Reconnecting with players they enjoyed
- Helping newer players without needing to use public chat

Subscriber Benefit

This could also work well as a Subscriber-only feature, adding further value to subscriptions while helping support the site.  For example:

- Only subscribers can send private messages
- Non-subscribers can receive but have limited replies
- Higher inbox limits for subscribers
- Extra privacy settings for subscribers

This may also encourage more users to subscribe.

Safety / Moderation Considerations

To keep the system safe and respectful, messages could include safeguards such as:

- Report Message button for abuse or harassment
- Block User option
- Ability to disable private messages in account settings
- Moderators/Admins able to review reported conversations when needed

Why This Could Help

At present, many interactions rely on public chat or forum posts.  A messaging feature could:

- Reduce unnecessary public spam
- Help users build friendships and return more often
- Improve player retention and engagement
- Modernise the platform with a feature many gaming sites already use
- Add another reason for users to subscribe

Final Thought

Even a simple inbox with basic text messages would be a strong addition and could be expanded later if successful.
