The award goes to a person with the most loyal friend with spare time on his/her hands. you can just keep tapping and accumulating a high score, it would be nice to see what someone could have got though.

Like I said, it was a fluke. Never played this person before. He (or she) was the one that was tapping the same wrong ball when he was snookered. I just kept passing the shot. He would take the full minute then when the tics started he would tap the wrong ball in front of him. For some strange reason the 3 foul rule wasn't working. The game took forever but I wanted to see how many points I could rack up. I think he was drunk or something.

I don't believe there is a 3 point rule in snooker. And it sounds like he was using the tactic of making you bored so you would leave the game, good job you have persistence to win :D

Oh yeah, you're right. Being a yank I was thinking of 9-ball. Learned how to play snooker on the net and fell in love with the game cause there's much more skill than luck involved. But, as you know you can encounter some real characters from time to time, like the tipsy tapper I scored 176 on.

Yep, it can be unnerving at times. Guess everyone's intitled to their own beliefs but that doesn't mean that I want to hear their pyscho babble during a match. There's always the mute option although at times I wished they had a "whack em in the head with a pool cue till they see stars" option. Best thing is to ignore those types and hit em with a 176 pointer!

Slightly off topic, but does anyone know the highest score acheived in a proffessional snooker match (i'm guessing it would be no where near 147 due to the fact most people would concede in real life).

Darn! Thought I had the highest record. Might have to search out the "tipsy tapper" for a re-match so I can score 251. 

I had this done to me yesterday in my first game for a month... was sat there for well over an hour why this kid continously put the white behind a colour, so i decided to call a moderator 'boss22', and y'kno what he did? NOTHING. 

Apparently my opponent wasn't breaking ANY of fod's rules, aint that right 'boss?  i mean he wasnt being unsportsmanlike, he wasnt intentionally losing to favour me etc...so boss just sat there whilst this guy took 50+ secs a shot then fouled and snookered me. PATHETIC. so i emailed moderators who i hope are actually ON this planet.

I'm not sure that I understand what you are asking. 147 has been scored, but only as a break. You cannot concede a frame during the other person's break. The highest possible break is 155 but I don't know if that has actually been achieve.

After a foul where you are snookered you can take a colour as a free ball (worth 1), which is followed by a colour. If you do this when there are 15 reds on the table it's possible to get 155. You have to clear and only score blacks with the free ball and all the reds.
