Fair to some people is different than others, fair to me is the normal real life 9ball rules, fair to others is the make up FOD rules that arent actually written anywhere, jsut people make up as many excuses as they can to give them a chance of winning by potting in consecutive order only.

Finally someone who sees the light!!  It always breaks me up when someone says "fair"....If you don't like the REAL rules of the game then stop playing.  Do you think the pros say 
"Hey there, bo3 fair ok? Please don't combo or snooker me 'cause thats just not fair"...

Fair play is to stick to the rules. Those who do otherwise are being unfair - obviously the actual rules are too much for them to deal with, so they try to change it in their favour.

''Fair'' doesnt mean fair with the original meaning of the word.Its just a set of slightly different rules used by a large amount of players in fod's 9ball.
It doesnt mean that when using ''fair'' rules u are playing fair and when not using them u are playing unfair,its just a name someone has given to this set of rules.
Anyway,i m not using them,all i m saying is that when both players agree to use them then they should stick to them during the game.

 set of rules, which is fine if both players agree to them. Why not call them 

alternate

 rules though, because to say 

fair

 is misleading. Many people who prefer to change the rules suggest that you are being 

unfair

 if you don't agree to them, and I blame that on the name you give it.

well, i see both points of the arguement. in 8-ball, i always start by saying, 

"bo3, and only move white behind the line, agreed?"

if they do, then good, fair rules. if not, fine, play the unfair, however "correct", (not in my opinion) rules. it all boils down to this, you dont like the way the site works, no1 is forcing u to stay. go on carom 3d or something. 

This has been discussed so many times and to me the reason for it is because 9ball is full of kids, they dont like losing, especially not straight away from a combo, i never play 9ball unless im really bored and when i go there i just end up laughin mao with the abuse i get for combo'ing...makes me laugh :D

Yes. At Vampires lg we do (9) Last,which is very cool. At Avengers Lg we dont care if ya combo,or "fluke" it,but if you do it after a FOUL,ya lose.These 2 variations of the ACTUAL 9BALL RULES makes some skill necessary.
The bottom lines always the same tho.

9 ball is a shadow of the greater game that is snooker, this is compounded by the countless kids that pollute an already shallow game (in my humble opinion). i seldom play 9 ball and when i do i remember why i dont.
