I've read all the arguements and I've read the rules but what matters is that in real life the ball is virtually always replaced as it's impossible to know whether someone has purposely fouled or not,so in practice we don't need a mod/supercomputer to say whether a player has cheatedor not,so we might as well have something as close to the real thing as possible,or at least closer than what we have now which is a ridiculous rule that isn't played at all in real snooker.
