9 Ball Tactics
I am still trying to work out how to play 9 ball. I notice that often I'll clear most of the balls, then leave the 9 or a couple on and lose games. What is the best way to play? I am beginning to think that not potting the balls but waiting for 3 fouls or a combo is a more skillful way of playing. It certainly seems to reduce the chance for flukers to win. Any ideas or hints?
If u 3foul or combo after foul then ull b classed as a sad player :|...9ball is pretty easy...ive been playing since may last year and my highest in 9ball is 681...1 way so u dont get fluked is to fluke urself:D...if not try leaving the 9ball on a cussion nearr the beginning of the game making it harder to fluke:) and if u practice using path ull find u can clear table alot easier:)...since ive been playing 9ball ive only cleared the table(and i mean all the balls not just the 9:p) abt 20 times :| most ppl will show off cuz theyve cleared mor but to me 20 is still quite good:)

Hope ive helped you out a little :)
Best tips i can give you is to work on your positional play, without that you stand no chance..unless you become part of the majority and aim to fluke the 9ball on each shot.
Potting the balls is not so difficult but getting position on 1 ball rather than 7 or 16 like in 8ball and Snooker it becomes more difficult.
Other than that, if in doubt, play safe.
>1 way so u dont get fluked is to fluke urself

I think that people who try to hit the 9 every shot in hope of a fluke are the true sad players.

In my local pool hall a fluke is frowned upon as much as a combo after a foul. If other players choose to bang the balls around the table and foul as a result, why shouldn't they be punished for showing a lack of skill? If the 9 is in a position where a foul might leave a combo, then I don't take risks - why shouldn't a player who does otherwise be punished for not showing the correct game awareness?

From now on I will take fair play to mean skillful play as well. If a player is unlucky I will not combo, but if they are random or careless then I'll consider it fair play to punish them for it.
Combo is part of the game, live with it!
9ball on here doesnt reflect the real life game.
9 ball is rubbish :( get rid of it fod?
Right now it doesn't matter, I can't play any of the games anyway. Gone from being okay to complete rubbish in the last few days X-(
The best(and my :)) tactic is to clear the table with a break :)
I don't quite understand why people complain about a combo after a foul. Maybe if you weren't so poor, you wouldn't foul and give your opponent the opportunity. As for fluking, yeah it's frowned upon here too. If someone tries to fluke all the time, it just shows you that they know they are crap.
i think fly or die is the best site in the world accept i wish they'd unban my ip and take bugs out of my comp
