Most Beautiful Kite
Hi All - Just got back from a great time at WSIKF... Washington State International Kite Festival. Had kiters from all over the world in attendance... New Zealand, Japan, the UK, Venezuela,Germany and the US of course, to name a few countries represented. I was fortunate enough to win Most Beautiful Kite in the Flat and Bowed Category with my "Houterman's Amazing Star"...made up of over 180 panels with a tail over 75 feet long. Thought u might enjoy a pic ...

These are calleds bols (pronounced bowls)... they stay tethered to the ground and bounce upon the sand. These particular ones are 12 ft in diameter.

This is a rainbow sled...this style is known for it's lifting ability, will hold up lots of line laundry ;-) (And no..i don't do my wash at the beach :D )

The red is a 252-sq ft Flowform Soft Kite(no rods), also known for it's lifting ability. You're viewing it looking thru the center of a Crown (a bols big brother ;-) ) You can get an idea of it's size in comparision to my friend.
Now for a couple of spooky ones...lol
These are called ghost kites because they are made of a very fluid fabric and the tails softly flutter in the sky. Very beautiful to watch...
