I do not usually reply on the boards.  I am not one of the highest players here, but I have been playing consistently for a few years, so I've been around for the changes, etc.  A few pointers:

First of all, placing that many exclamation points in a subject heading is distastful, if not rude.  There are basic rules of online etiquette, and that many exclamation points breaks those rules.  Also, a heading like that labels your post as a noob post.  Chances are any higher level players that saw it assumed that this was yet another noob question that could be answered in the endless help files or websites, and therefore passed this question over.  Something to think about...

Secondly, your questions.  You don't even need to worry about question 1 or 2 until you solve 3.  Both 1 and 2 take place on the new island, which you can't get to until you get a boat.  As far as making money to get that boat, there are many things you can do: dig, kill, gamble.  I suggest you check out the help section, as I believe there are suggestions there.  From what I understand, there aren't many players under level 25 that are able to get to the island yet, due to the money constraints.  Other than that, it's just good old fashioned hard work and time that achieves that goal.

Thank you so much for your help, though I would like to add that this is just a dumb game and I can make lots of exclamation points if I want to. My lordy, you guys who answer these posts are just too nice.  This guy, slayerofdragons(real catchy name), comes on like the biggest dullard to ever enter the forum.  Insulting each and everyone of us, in a passive agressive way, and nobody tells him off.  Well, I for one, would applaud someone coming in here and putting him in his place, telling him how  obtuse it is to take the time to ask questions about a game   he finds reprehensible to be absorbed in.  Please, can't someone be mean besides slayerofdragons (frightening name).  You are all welcome to be mean to me anytime ( if just to change the pace of this forum from time to time).  Thank you in advance for your biting remarks.

First, of all the "big guys" don't hate noobs. Only irritated by ones with attitude who won't look stuff up.
Second, Watch your language.
Third, Had you read up you'd know building stones is worthless unless you can get to the island where conquest happens. For that you need a boat.
Fourth you really need over 6 million for a boat and citizenship and that falls under the noob question, "how do I make money".
Fifth, The previous play was right your post was over exclamationed.

Well, negod, I apologize for being too nice.  But I've never been the sort who likes to alienate people.  I'm more of a 'kill 'em with kindness' type of person.  It's probably because of all those years I spent being a summer camp counselor.  I'll try to be a little nastier ;).
