anyone a fan of it and if so post your favorite work/works :)
Gone with the Wind and Dante's Inferno. I'm a big fan of classic literature, Montesuger.

Samantha
Hmm, there are so many.

Just a few though that I would suggest for a good read...

Beowulf, Pride and Prejudice, Shakespeare - MacBeth, Romeo and Juliet, I agree with the above post with Gone With The Wind, Jane Eyre,Clockwork Orange,The Great Gatsby.

Well, I'm gonna stop now.
Jane Eyre is great too since I like Victorian literature. Beowulf..well I don't know whats it about.

Samantha
Samantha, it's been ages since I've read the book (heroic epic poem). I read it when I was in 9th grade and just recall it being impressionable. Let me dig way back into my brain here...It's an adventurous story. If you like King Arthur and Fantasy type novels, then you might enjoy this too. If not, then stay away from it, it will bore you to death...lol. It's setting is during medieval Europe. It usually appeals more to a man audience, because of the gore, monster, and battles...but even so, I still thought it was good. Most classics are ;)
No I don't really like Fantasy, King Arthur stories, so I guess I would be bored by it. I really like 17th-19th century stories about Europe, you know, like the English moors. I also really like Wuthering Heights. Oh by the way, have you read The Secret Garden? That one's also one of my favorites.

Samantha
Yup yup you would be :) Be thankful you didn't have to read it in high school then. Or wait, well, maybe you are still in high school...if so, you might have too one day. Don't know your age so. Wuthering Heights is an awesome novel! I can't believe I didn't mention that one myself :) Nope, I have never read The Secret Garden, I've seen the movie though, does that count, lol.

Hey Montsegur, this is your post, what are your picks ;)
I just graduated from high school, but I might have to read it in college. I'm 17. What state are you from srs######? What game(s) do you play?

Samantha
1. Hamlet- Shakespeare

2. Paradise Lost-Milton

3. Ode on a Grecian Urn-Keats

4. Don Quixote-Miguel De Cervantes

5. The House of Usher-Poe

6. Rime of the Ancient Mariner-Coleridge

7. Frankenstein-Shelly

8. Doctor fautus-Marlowe

9. The Stolen Child-W.B. Yeats

10. The Tyger-Blake

I recommend that only who is interested in Literature read these :)
Samantha,

Well that calls for a congrats! What's your next step? Hmm, answering what state I am from is a toughy. Too make a long story short though, I grew up in a military family since the day I was born. Therefore that means I have moved a great deal around the world. And I am now married to a man in the Air Force, so I am still moving :) I'm worldly. Currently I reside in Italy. We have orders to move in October where we will be going to Mainland Japan. The games I play here on FOD are the Billiards and Snooker. What about you?

Montsegur,

Ohhh, you listed some top notch literature. They definately make for a good read. I've never read the House of Usher, what's it about?

a house......wait for it...owned by.....usher
So, that's it, that is the premise of the entire book. Come on, you can give me a better synopsis then that.
To srs######, wow how many places have you lived in? For me, I've just moved three times in my life. I'm going to Dartmough in cold New Hampshire next semester. By the way, what kind of plane does your husband fly?

To hara kiri,
House of Usher is a book by Poe, so its probably a mystery novel of some kind.

Samantha

Samantha,

You could just type srs :D I'll leave that up to ya.

Do you actually want me to list the places? Well, here ya go...born in Minnesota. And then from there...North Carolina, Abilene Texas, North Dakota, Panama (the country not city), Fort Worth Texas, Lancaster California, Okinawa, Guilderland New York, Osan South Korea, Back to Okinawa, St.Louis Missouri, Back to Okinawa, Hickam Hawaii, Andersen Guam , Ramstein Germany, Elmendorf Alaska, and my current Italy. Those are just the places I have lived. One of the benefits of the military really is all about the traveling. And depending on where you are stationed at, the travel opportunities can be great. Like here in Italy we were able to branch out to France and Switzerland. When in Korea and Japan we were able to go to Thailand. While in the states, well, most of the states. Most of that traveling was done when I was a kid though. It wasn't until my teenage years that we started going overseas. Fun stuff, really is.

Ya know what, three times in one life, is actually a lot :D. Many people stay in one place all their life. I'd say in about ten years I'd like to finally settle down myself. Getting tired of all this moving around, no roots, ya know. Must of been cool to be in spots for long lengths of time for you. Did you just attend one high school the whole time? I wish I would of been able to do that. I had to go to three different high schools. Oh well, meeting people is always cool.

NH brrrr. Are you use to the cold weather?

My husband does not fly planes. I can't disclose exactly what he does. Ummm, Lets just say he is the hub of information. Sorry :s

Do you know what you will be majoring in?

To srs,
yes I do, I'll be majoring in medecine (you know the research kind, not the surgery kind). Wow, did you memorize those places or did you write them down? Most people only attend one high school though. People tend to move less and less as they attend secondary schools and college.

Hmm..do you mind if I ask what your name is..I'm just curious. I understand if you don't want to disclose it. Totally. There are some wierd people on these forums :)

Samantha
Samantha,

Oh, kudos to you for going into medicine. I hope you get a lot out of it. Research is a great business to get into, can be challenging, but I am sure it has it's rewards.

Nah, over the years I just tend to remember or memorize the places I've been to. Each place holds something dear to my heart, so it really is not hard to recall where I have been.

Well, people call me Sandra. I am not worried about disclosing that little bit of information :) I take it you are Samantha? lol

True, true, there are some whackos out there huh.
