Chris you are the dumbest person to have come on this forum for a while. You'll find that most websites have trial versions of their game and have special features for those willing to pay. Fod is a business and makes money from advertising as well as subscribers.
Why should subscribing be free? You get the basic game free and have the option of upgrading(subscribing) and getting a few extra features such as the do not disturb button and more system tourneys. Tell me this :-If FlyOrDie make subscribing free where will they make their money? This is a buisness not a giveaway at the end of the day. [Edited by: Mervin on Jun 2, 2005 9:20 PM]
If subscribing were free then FlyOrDie would seriously go down hill. FlyOrDie rely on paying members to be able to improve the games and service. FlyOrDie is a business and needs to make money to survive.

I didn't read Supa's reply and I said, in essence, what he wrote. [img=

Chris, put it this way - FoD costs money to run. Someone has to pay for you to play. At FoD you have the luxury of two choices, either you pay or you let someone else do so. If you choose to let someone pay, then you have to watch their adverts in return. If you pay, then the extra revenue goes into the R&D costs of supplying you with a few "extras". It doesn't matter which option you chose, you still get the full game, ratings and all the other features within the game itself. Of course, if you don't like the site then no one is forcing you to keep playing the games.
What's the difference between subscribing to Fod and going into GAME and buying a pool game? These disc ran games advertise a large number of opponents sometimes, but it doesn't compare to the number on Fod.
When you work it out you only pay peanuts a month. I bought VP3, thought it was ok but it was a waste of money. I'd have much preferred the money to have gone towards a year's subscription.
Then you can argue why buy clothes etc etc... I was told it was good, I bought it, I regretted it. Your telling me you've never regretted anything you've bought?!
