Well as most ppl know im in the army. Today i was told that im goin to darmstadt, germany for 2 yrs in april 05. I was just wondering if anyone could help me with some sites on germany. If you are going to germany and need help i suggest u find as much german people and ask them for help ASAP because time can go quite quickly u know.
You'll be stationed abroad between 1 year or 18 months depending on how much time you have in your enlistment. If you like the place, you can re-enlist in the Army and be asked to stationed there for another period of time. But have it in writing by personnel. If you wanna know the sites, ride the train. Trains there are very punctual and very efficient. You can ride the train during weekends if you are not on duty. You can ride the trains from city to cities like Aschaffenburg, Wurzburg, Schweinfurt, Nurnberg, Heidelburg, Bamberg, etc. You can request a 3-day pass to travel to Paris, France. They have bus tours available to soldiers and American civilians alike.
If you like other culture & enjoy traveling, you will have a blast in Germany. I spent 2 years in Darmstadt then in Kaiserslatern. I'm back in the States now & I sometimes miss being there.
