I notice this has been discussed already on the forum - the new rating system. There are now two incompatible ways that play is scored - via the kill/die table top right, and via the player rating. I don't think anyone other than the player who delivers the killing blow should get points. When other players are near a wounded tank, i'll often use a rocket rather than a nuke to make sure i get the kill - even though a nuke is an easier weapon to use. And it usually makes more sense to go after a wounded tank than to go after a fresh one, not just because of the points, but also because a wounded tank within shooting distance represents a threat that can be eliminated more quickly. Players who deliver final blows are better players. They should get all the points.
LOL some people are so funny here. reichenbach are you saying if i hit a player with 3 nukes and you finish him with 1 hit you should get all the points becose you killed him so that makes you the better player. "NOT" Think about it, you think its fair if you have someone on fire and someone has 1 lucky shot and gets the points you did most of the work for. This point systum is much better then it was!!! Kinda. With the new system it makes sense for you to hit him with three nukes and then move on - i.e., it makes sense for you to play defensively. Under the old system you had to be smarter, and there was more pressure to make one of the three shots a rocket, which usually requires more skill. In the situation you describe you're focussing on my luck rather than on your failure to finish the job when you had the chance. The new system is not only incompatible with the kill/die table top right, but also contradicts the logic of having rockets harder to use than nukes. I say: coffee is for closers - bring back the old system.
You are the person making no sense. "The old system made you fight smarter" No the old system caused you to chicken out and go for those on fire. The new system casues you to play better and quicker to hit people as many times as possible. The weapons you hit them with do matter. They give you a % of damage done not just hits, therfore 2 rockets will give you like .75 while 2 nukes will only be .5 21/17 the rating on top is not used for your rating but more for 1v1 and team competitions. They are totaly seprate. You lose 3 points to a player -100 from you and only gain 1 my killing them it makes perfect snse why you might lose points. You guys are crazy that want the old system back.
Play people
dont take advantage of their being on fire.
reichenbach... let me understand what you are trying to say... you say that whoever gets in the finishing blow is a better player? that is absurd. lemme tell it to you like this: if a person (lets say person #1) is fighting another person (lets say person #2) and #1 hits #2 with 3 nukes, thus setting #2 on fire. then a third person (person #3) hits #2 with only a single nuke and kills #2. how is it that #3 is better than #1, if #1 has hit #2 THREE TIMES AS MANY AS #3 DID! please explain how #3 is better if he only struck once, while #1 did all the actual work. this is why the system changed. people get exactly as many points as they deserve. half the kill = half the points, etc. if the only people you fight in an op are people on fire, this creates a situation very similar to banking, as you are doing little or no work this in way.
