I have just started playing here a couple days ago. Already I see that there needs to be some method of shot calling put in place. I would suggest "ball and pocket". What is the point of rating players if you can just go in and smack the balls as hard as possible and win a game. This is ridiculous. I would have to say, close to half of the games I've lost were do to really sloppy game play. And I can't believe there's no pocket calling on the 8-ball itself. I can't say I've never won a game due to slop either, but I would rather have lost those couple of games, in return for the many I should have won. As a fair and honest player, I don't like the idea of winning a game after pocketing the 8-ball on the completely wrong side of the table. This is frustrating enough that it could be a decision maker on renewing a subscription. It should definitely be taken into consideration. Doesn't seem like it would be too hard to develop. Personally i would call pockets on everything if i had yo but it might not be very well suited for the " newbies" but i think just calling the 8 is a good addition.
FlyOrDie’s 8-ball rules are American Pool rules. If the rules in American Pool say that a pocket has to be nominated for the 8-ball to be potted in then i think FlyOrDie should do that. Apart from that, i have came accross a rule of my own for pocketing the 8-ball: After a player has potted the 7th ball before going onto the 8-ball i think that the pocket in which that ball was potted is the same pocket that the 8-ball has to go into. If the ball is pocketed in a different pocket then that is a "scratch" then the other player gets "ball in hand". :D

At least ball and pocket should be called, and since there is no judge watching to say if a shot is obvious or not, all shots should be called.
Yep i Agree that u should have to call a pocket wen ur on the 8-ball cuz there is too many flukey mo' fo's out there and they hit n hope to win

yea im all for call pocket on 8ball but not all the balls that wouldnt be right...would put me off 8ball
