Well.....i have seen a lot of posts recently regarding the Various Cheat Breaks, mostly in 9 ball.
I think we can all agree that in 9 ball it is probably the easiest way to win a game, and makes the game pretty pointless. Almost all of the high ranked people in 9 ball got there by using the cheat break, and then going back to the lobby to make sure it wasnt repeated on them.
Hard as it is to admit, there is probably very little that can be done to stop it. Changing the mechanics of the game isnt going to help, since sooner or later someone will find a new cheat break in practice mode and then inflict on people to win more points.
That doesnt mean that there are not ways to avoid it. Some of the higher ranks, when asked will not use the cheat break if you ask them beforehand. However, some will just lie and use it anyway. In these cases i find the most effective solution is to simply mute them. That way they can not challenge you again, and they cannot use the cheat break again on you.
IF everyone started to do this, then it would not take too long before the people who use the cheat break are forced to play the others who use it, and then the winner of those games will just be whoever breaks first.
Theres nothing in the rules to stop them using it, so this is really our only way to combat the problem.
After a few days you will, like me, log in and find half the lobby is muted because they are all known cheat break people.
Those that are left you know will play a proper game and you can then continue to enjoy the game as it is supposed to be played.
The basic rule is Dont let someone spoil your fun more than once. They Cheat break you once, and you refuse to play them ever again. It wont take long for them to get the message.
