Some people would use it to bring their opponents to leave the game to win it like this.

What I meant was, the 5 minute move timer in the upper right. [main time can keep ticking] 

Some pro players like to spend half an hour on one move. Mostly amateurs don´t.

I occasionally Like to spend 10-15 minutes thinking something out. [then again I also like to play in amateur tournaments.

I  prefer to make timer like in Backgammon. Total time 10 minutes, plus 10 or 20 seconds for every move.I met players who played 20 minutes instead my 7. It's too long to wait theese "brakers".
