With the invaders clearing out all of TA some time back I didn't feel the need to bump the (very) old thread regarding monstology, so I created a new one here. As LarkinorGuide is only semi-accurate, with its reporting of pre-invasion monsters, I think this thread will serve as a better index of population efforts.

Dadax, block 10627 is currently the designated block for farming alien contraptions and gadgets, dropped by spokesmen and delegates, respectively. Populating other monsters on the block makes it harder to collect large amounts of the otherwise rare items, so I would greatly appreciate it if you moved your efforts elsewhere.

Well, barring the invaders making it that far south into the city and clearing a few squares of populations, I think the alien square is pretty useless right now.  So, go ahead and use that square.  I believe the square just north of that is currently unpopulated if anyone wants to set up a new alien square.

Dadax, if you're looking to populate monsters, I think you should stick within the city limits, so we can keep the forest clear for monsters that drop hard-to-find items.  That being said, feel free to use the forest for 1st releases to increase your monstalogy lvl or to populate a monster that you need to harvest ingredients from (much easier to get ingredients when there's only one monster on the square).

Also, I know I'm not a monstalogist, but I'm done with my shurikencells square.  I was thinking we might try to get the invaders down to destroy it so we'll have another fairly secure forest square for other monsters (cubulus, *cough*).
Also, it's a lot easier to communicate these things if you press the 'chat' button at the top right of your Larkinor game window every once in a while :)
Someone populated thronederns (of all things) on 10627 despite the kind request posted here earlier not to spoil that square hitherto reserved for aliens. It was a determined effort since both silver and brass are shining there.
I don't think that the alien square was useless. The price of gagdets and contraptions on Larki market has been skyrocketing for some time.
Anyway, what's done is done. For the future, city or no city, any reserved square is useful for some people at least, and in the same time there is certainly more than enough room left for monstologists. That is not going to change as long as the invaders are clearing the way.

For the record, these are the squares currently "reserved":
10593 - vampires
10558 - turncoat
10557 - cornerstone monsters
10556 - shurikencells
10523 - void of monsters - diggers' paradise

I planned to try populating cubulus on 10592 (fortress+pub), but now probably I'm going to establish aliens there.
Please let's try to make each other's lives easier, or at least - no big deal really - explain why you can't.
Just to clarify, eg, I like the alien square, I just felt it was useless with the thronedens on there now.  I don't know if people want the shurikencells (I only needed him because of a lvl 94 weapon that required 40 nucleus, which was nearly impossible for my lvl 93 chars to get).  I'd personally like to let invaders clear him (and possibly the second vampire square) and use those squares for other monsters.

We also currently have 2 vampire squares (10593 and 10591, I believe).  My fault again, as my digger wanted herbs and couldn't defeat the lord who kept appearing since he was closer to her lvl.

Anyhow, I don't like monstalogy, but I do have a char in the vampire vacation, who can get to the aliens if you need any help with that.

Monster wishlist includes (tyler and I started this): cubulus, imagebox, dimensioncarver, dungavatar - just in case any monstalogists out there want something to do.
Ok sorry, I should have read the previous posts more carefully. So it was an accident with the aliens, no problem. I also thought that 10591 vampire square was an aberration (the subset of 10593), but apparently it has some standalone purpose.
Nevertheless, I may populate that one (10591) with aliens (an extra vampire every now and then doesn't hurt much), if that is acceptable. Any help is appreciated, of course.
That leaves 10592 for something else, possibly (realistically) cubulus. Is anyone onto their scent, where they prefer to linger?
10591 is now officially the 2-aliens-and-a-vampire square.
