i would say the noughts and crosses trilogy by Malorie Blackman it is very good its not just a book for young readers!
lol forget Super System I said that after losing money playing poker at the casino while drunk... I don't read many novels but I've read all of Dan Brown's books and they're pretty good.
high five to the poker fan! I recommend Harrington's books also. as for actual novels, i forget the definition, do sci-fi books count? If so, the Ender's Game series, particularly Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow.
tolkien is the best at his genre by far.. i should agree there though,Dan Brown is awesome.
Micheal Crichton is amazing, especailly Prey and Congo. So much research go into writing his books its incredible, but he also combines it with an interesting story.

As far as I know sci-fi books do not come under the purview of novels. Dan Brown, Paulo Coelho, Sideney Sheldon...... Can you people tell me the names of best horror novels you have read so far?
the best horror books are by Darren Shan either his vampire series or the demonata series .Also stephen King is great too ;-)
