i can click on the chat bar but im not able to type anything but people can type to me, why is this when everything else on the game is loaded just fine?

Do you use Firefox? It sometimes stops letting you chat if you're using Firefox. A simple way to cure it is to simply log into a second room, any room, and just type something there, then it should work again in your original window. If that makes any sense. :)
