The post that was deleted was in here,Moderators Forum. 

The last Tourny in Tanx, the top five,in the Tournament were nicknames not more than three months old.

Which would suggest  all of them had played the game before,but hidden behind lower ranked nicknames.

Now you have mentioned this i remember an email with this content.

In fact and you sure know there are players with more than one subscribed nicknames. No rule bans using lower nicknames in a tourney so it has been experienced alot in the past that players prefer to use their lower rated nicknames for whatever reasons.

Using a 2nd, 3rd, or 4000th nickname to play in a tournament is not artificially adjusting your rating.  Playing your own nicks for wins, now THAT is artificialy adjusting ratings.  As long as fair play is recorded on a nick, I see nothing wrong with it.

If a 450+ rater wants to play on his 20 rating nik,thats not "artificially adjusting" his nik then.Because technically its a diffrent nik.

It is ungentlemanly conduct tho ?

if you would have read the rest of the posts in this topic, you'll see that two mods have replied and have said no rule bans the use of a 2nd, 3rd, or more nic's... whether for use in a tournament or not.

now, i don't play tanx (or any game with tournaments on fod), but i do have more than one account that i use in larkinor.  however, if i did play in a game with tournaments, i believe i would want to play under a name where people wouldn't know how good i am, so they wouldn't know what to expect when they played against me, especially since no rule forbids that.

anyway, as has been said before, the rule quoted about "artificially adjusting ratings" only applies to playing against yourself (on different nic's) to increase your rating.

Playing own nicks on 2 diff computers at home is allowed as it will not be recorded and you won't gain points from winning.

Just to explain the rule 2.1 it only refers to ratings and as said before it does not refer to using 2nd or 3rd nicks (even in tourneys!). Unnatural modifications (Banking, Resetting, Giving points away...) of each rating will result in a ban/reset. And thats all.

I think the point is getting missed here wot Peter is saying.. not only do they go in on lower nics but also use multi nics in the tourny..and have someone else playing on there real nic.. or they have someone playing on the lower nic so they can gain points that way to win that way.. if theres is no mod there..to moderate then yeah they do that ..i have disqualified many a time for the same reason.. and im not onlymod to do disqualify for that reason...lets face it a Tournament is meanmt to be played openly and with honesty .. no need to use multi nics or lower nics if there as good players as they say they are they dont nweed to cheat.. thats my point of view

During a system tournament you are only allowed to use 

ONE

 nickname.

If you use multiple names during a tournament then expect ALL of them to be disqualified.

As for the post above about other people using the names, this is clearly against the rules under name sharing, and will result in the nicknames being banned.

Question back - how do moderators know that nick is being shared?

It must be almost impossible, I could let my brother play on my nickname right now and no one would know.. and if anyone claimed that it wasn't me what proof would they have?

Same situation with chess,noone knows how they know who uses programm and who doesn't..probably random choose :D
