Since buying a super boat means it would only cost about 20 extra clicks to "buy levels", I've been wondering why you can't create build stones on TA, and after some digging around and a few too many late nights in the pub I think I've figured it out: the Larkinor Coalition of Mage Tower Owners, or LaCoMaTO, as they call themselves.
That's right, LaCoMaTO. My research indicates that Larkinor mage tower owner/operators Rawinor, Nookmore and Dark Thordorg banded together to form this coalition about a year ago in a unified effort to fight the distinct possibility of the Larkinor people taking their magical item building needs off-shore to Thord-Artin.
Through a calculated series of persuasive lobbying efforts (which reportedly concluded successfully after two days during which King Lorden's eldest son was turned into a grotesquely large frog), LaCoMaTO won it's bid for the exclusive rights to building stone construction.
King Lorden, likely still quite bitter about the frog incident, had the last laugh when he later declared that as part of his selfless humanitarian effort to help rebuild the war-torn country, mage tower owners could charge no more than a single silver per building stone construction.
Knowing they had lost the public relations battle LaCoMaTO went back underground and operate behind a wall of silence to this day. I've heard whispers in the taverns that they are planning to avenge this abrupt dashing of their dreams of earning billions from the rebuilding of the war-torn country, so enjoy the trembling peace while you can.
