HTTP Connection - solution to disconnections
Hello,

I have been suffering greatly from disconnections while playing snooker (probably
over 80% of my losses).

After being disconnected, I often get a dialog box that allows me to reconnect
to the server using an HTTP connection. I have found the HTTP connection to be
much more reliable than the default one, and I don't get disconnected while
connecting via HTTP.

My question is this - how can I connect using the HTTP connection to start with
(i.e. when I first log on to the server), without having to wait for a disconnection
in order to get the option to use it?
Yes I've found that works too. The only thing is when i do disconnect it VERY rarely actually gives me the option to use HTTP. Disconnects on quick snooker caused me to go from a rating of around 180 to.....0! I actually lost about 2 matches and won 1.
at my house io use normal one and at my grans i use http, both seem fine
Is there a way for me to initiate a HTTP connection when logging in (without having to wait for a disconnection to happen in order to get this option)?
Yeah, i've had this disconnection thing happen twice today playing chess.

Nothing like getting into a half hour+ match only to have it stall out and disconnect.

My internet connection is fine, so wondering what the problem is maintaining a connection.

Call me suspicious, but it only seems to be happening when I'm winning. Like my opponent can smell defeat, so they stall it out somehow, because not only is it a disconnect, it counts as a loss against me.

That I do not understand. If the server can recognize it as a disconnect, then why does that count as a win for my opponent and a loss for me? Hardly seems fair.

Not to mention a complete waste of time that makes playing on this site pointless if it can't maintain a connection.

Played here for a week or so with no problems until last night/today.

Anybody?....

Been said a few times and basically it's because you can manually disconnect yourself in theory. If you're losing and you disconnect your internet cable, if points wern't deducted then you could escape losing all the time which is why the server HAS to count it as a loss ;)
