You probably haven't been around to see the likes of Kobe...or quite a few different people for that matter, the forum is regulated this way mainly because it is a family oriented site and a lot of kids under the age of 18 come on here, may or may not visit the forum but that doesn't matter.  Point is others screwed up and now we have to deal with the approval process that comes with posting.

So in other words your saying that if a kid chews gum in class and gets cought. another student hasa put the gum on his nose and sit in a corner for the remainder of the class  lol.So now everyone suffers  because of a few ppl? :( 

Well i guess every site has particular rules to follow, so i  can understand now ty  so ty4da info :) 

This forum jumps from one side to the other, they allow free posting, then posts are moderated, it gets changed back to normal again, and then suddenly we are back to moderation.

Thing is, i'm not even sure what triggered the forums to be moderated this time :| i'm sure i was active at that point and i saw no "unruly" behaviour.

maybe is we asked OPERATOR nicely he could explain this to us  better hu chris

Maybe you will get lucky and OPERATOR will even respond :p

 nobody has be allowed to post in it for some reason . i personaly think that this post woulda rocked,cuz many other forums  users on other forums use sigs. Why wont they allow ppl to post in this  one . Specialy  when the reactions to it were all positive ones. i Even tried to post a sig in it a week ago and i wasnt allowed to be shown for some reason  but was allowed to be shown in moderators  topic . This kind of makes me feel like ive done somthing  wrong by showing a sig in in a post.JUst a suggestion to fod. Maybe you ppl could make a  topic  just for sigs\Probabaly not but im sure ppl  would enjoy it very much to show off there sigs,providing there acceptable to the rules  here.Whats your opinion ppl? OERATOR  could you plz comment on this one plzzzzzzzzzz

FOD are somewhat allergic to suggestions (although they have introduced a "suggestions" topic probably to stop ideas spamming the other topics more than anything)

Why they havn't introduced a simple forum technique such as sigs i don't know.... and guess what.. we never will :)

I can't answer exactly why the moderation technique has changed but I would put it this way.....Many kid in class have gum.  One decides to put his chewed gum in the hair of the kid in front of him.   Now all gum in class is forbidden.

  I would point you to part 4. regarding forum use but also part 3. behavior also applies to forum posting.  As Mods many of us can remove things when someone post something inappropriate but for a while there were more spammers than Mods.  We were unable to keep up so my guess is the forums most subject to abuse are now subject to pre-approval.

Perhaps because sigs get really annoying, take up too mush space and people will just post for no reason to show their sigs off :p/

And this approval system, one thing bugs me about it.

Many topics are becoming deleted lately because of Off the topic banter etc. 

IF posts are seen as spam, against the rules etc. Why are they approved in the first place? 
  Does this suggest SOME mods are just approving anything first without reading it? (Totally contradicting the whole point of approval) 
If this isn't the case then there would be no need to delete certain threads in billiards, off topic and so on because the off topic posts shouldn't be approved.

well no worries now anyway cuz Xeno  has been banned for  no reason so you wont be seing that nic around anymore, but be assured there will be a complaint against  FOD WIZARD for banning  that nic because all he did was ask WIZARD if he should send in a ss of a person who called him a nIgger and he got bannd for racsic remarks   very  unfair and a email was sent to  moderator of the ss to prove the other player called xeno that racist name and is continuing to do it to other ppl  wile exno is on a temp ban    SO UUNFAIR

Yeah Chris the approval system is a joke to be quite honest. Fair enough, it stops the rubbish that people like Kobe put on, but come on FoD, forums are supposed to be about constant and interactive debate, not this rubbish of having to wait hours between a simple little post being approved. If this system is to continue, then at least there should be more mods checking the forums on a regular basis, surely!? It's not much to ask.

I have an idea that can suit everyone. If anyone has ever been on the BBC forums(606, anyway)tey will know the system that BBC uses. They do it so yourfirst few posts are monitered and the after that you are 'trusted'. I think if FOD adopted this solution(which they won't ;)) it would be a good compramise. What do you all think of this?
