Well G...its the nature of the game. The "noob bashing" will never cease. Its a harsh reality my friend. Not everyone is at least cordial in regards to chatting, making friends, playing just for the "fun" of the game. Dont fret too much, there are some who will be willing to help. 

But, the best way to get better is simply to keep playing and honing your skills. Disregard all the slander, try to make friends who can show you a few tips to improve your game. Have you tried joining a clan? That might help.

I agree we have all "been there" at one point...just continue to treat all players, regardless of skill level, with the proper respect. Perhaps one day this concept will catch on in Tanx ... but Im a but I wouldnt hold my breath.
