I thought I would share an experience I had yesterday...

as some of you know... I work at an airport.. out on the ramp as an
airline fueler..
yesterday.. while on the job.. a plane came in.. with a war
casualtie aboard.. a 21 year old Marine from Vermont... who was
killed in action on the 5th of this month...he had a Marine escort..
2 marines in full dress uniform... and waiting there on the ramp was
a hearse and 2 Vermont state police cars....so I'm watching them off
load the casket from the plane into the hearse and I remembered I
had a small American flag with me that I was going to put on the
fuel truck that I drive...so.. I grabbed the flag..... ran over to
the hearse driver.. and handed it to him..I said to him.. "here is
something to place in the window if you wish" ...his reply was
simply.. "excellent..thank you very much" I turned and walked
away...after a moment I turned and looked back.... and he had placed
my small American flag in the window of the hearse.. once the casket
was placed in the hearse it drove off with it's 2 Vermont state
police car escorts... with my flag..and the remains of a brave young
man who gave it all up for his country..I don't think I said another
word to anyone else for the rest of my shift..I just went about my
business of fueling airplanes and then went home..

GHOST RIDER
sad...but very nice and thoughtfull of u ghost...

bigdognuke
that is pretty sad, the family of that person is probally sad but proud of them for serving in our country and protecting it . *~Jen a.k.a rich girl a.k.a bigdognukesgirl~*
im with you on that 1 ghost you did good <><>
Thank you Ghost.
I am proud to be on a team with a man who is filled with honor for his fellow service man.
So many people take our service men and women for granted, even in the time of active war. These men and women go and fight these battles so we can sit here and enjoy our freedom. They fight
for each and every one of us
. They do it out of
honor
for all mankind. They endure many horrible things. They suffer from fatigue and etc..., unlike us, they can't just go to sleep because they are tired. When they do rest, it's a cautious sleep. Imagine trying to sleep while hearing gunshots and explosions around you.
Don't wait for a special day or reason to show respect and honor for our service men and women, do so at all times. And don't forget those who have been there and returned home.
They are all to be commended for fighting for our right of freedom. If not for them, freedom would be lost; you would have no rights to do the things you do now, such as voicing your opinions.
This 21 year old Marine, will never know the difference he has made.

So next time you walk down a street and there are no guards holding assault weapons in their hands, remember that some "man or woman", a "father or mother", "husband or wife", is out there fighting for
YOUR
rights to be free to do so.
Hey ghost rider"
Speaking from a mothers, "piont of veiw, with with a son in the service's also,
"If the parents knew" what you did
"and they just might",They would probably, Be very happy that, You showed there son "Respect" that came from your heart, By doing such a nobel deed.
That "little" flag had a "BIG" message to us all,
"A reminder of the percious young man" that hearst was transporting,.And also reminding us,

That we may have WON the WAR".
"But some Lost alot, In doing so !

"RIGHT ON GHOST" You got alota heart!
thanks everyone... it was a comfort to do that... thank you for your kind words..
