Ok, this is a grump but I'm sick of playing people when it is obvious they are using 2D view. Why bother playing a 3D pool game when your going switch the 3D option off anyway?? In 2D it's to easy to gage angles for shots if it was removed it would separate the man from the boys, at the moment the ratings suck because so many people use the 2D mode and just blast the balls anywhere...were's the skill in that?

How do you know the people using the 2d view are blasting the balls around? I myself think it takes more skill to play the game on 2d than 3d.
You gotta be kidding? Firstly, like I keep repeating here and the game rooms it's called "3D Pool" not "2D Pool" or "2 1/2D Pool" for that matter. In answer to your question about how do I know, well simple answer... I don't, but you can tell if you switch to 2D view and observe them you can see how quickly they move from angle to angle after each shot, in 3D view that speed with the most sophisticated mouse isn't possible. ;) As for 2D being harder, no offence but that's what a 2D player would say... ;) It is far easier to gage a shot angle in 2D then it is a 3D view which is as close to real Pool as you are going to get (except for improvements in graphics).
ahh im with u there lanky. altho, its *gauge not gage. :p having said this, ive never used the 2D view, so i dont kno reali, altho it is called 3D pool, so i agree, it should be removed after all :) good point lank.
But the argument is pointless if ou look at snooker as blasting balls around gets you no where anyway ;) if people want to use the 2d view let them, i still think it's harder to do and i don't use it so it's not something a 2d player would just say :D
If it's easier to judge angles in 2d, according to what you say gump, then you should make the most o it and use it ;) Blasting the balls around can occur in both 3d and 2d not just in 2d :)
Hahah its near impossible to aim on 2d mode, 3d is what you use. Shooting is best on 2d though as you can see the whole table and can judge the shot better.
LOL! you've made the argument for me...all these points just go to prove why 2D should be optional setting perhaps part of the table setup before a game starts. You have just as much admitted that using 2D in certain situations is easier. Why should you be able to judge a shot better in 2D mode, ina real game of pool can you hover over the table and get a birds eye view of the whole thing? Course not! Do anyway with it then we might have some meaningful rankings instead of three year olds using point and shot...what a waste of time.
However, if you cannot aim well in 2d then it isn't the easier option, with one thing that's easy in 2d, there's always another that's easy in 3d.

well i dont think they will remove the 2d feature anyway.plus i hope they dont coz i m always switching to 2d mode when its the other player's turn coz it much more convinient to watch his shots that way
And also the 2d mode reduces lag like you said, when you watch other people's shots and it's much easier to get an overview of the ball placements on the table.

lets be honest, if u want 2d only, SLING UR HOOK TO ANOTHER SITE. if u want 3d only, SAME. if u dont care, FOD is for u. if u want both, FOD again is 4 u.
