Weird effects with negative ratings
When a player on a ~rating beats one on a positive rating, the first player seems to go further into the negative. The only way he can climb up to zero is to lose and lose and lose deliberately. Have I got something wrong here?
Yes, you have got something wrong. "~" does not indicate a negative score, but shows that the id has yet to play 20 games. After the 20th the ~ disappears. It is not possible to have a rating of less than zero.
Thanks for clear helpful answer
