I have noticed that some valid points have been raised recently, only for the posts to disappear instead of FoD providing an answer or reason. Examples are the Cornish Git nickname, which has been shown to be non offensive or directed at a region (it was banned for regional offense according to Veriac). Another is the Kobe issue, where a lot of people backed up the original allegations against this person. Then there was the guy who was demerited because of forum flooding, and it was suggested that recent forum problems were likely to have prevented their immeadiate display and so he kept on trying.

So why have these threads been removed? Except in the Kobe case, there were no offensive posts before removal - and even if one was posted, then that individual post could have been removed. In the Kobe case it would have been possible to edit or just remove the offending posts.
I understand that posts must not be detrimental to FoD, but there is no rule saying that they cannot criticize or suggest wrong-doing on the part of the mod team. It already appears that the mod team has a struggle in keeping up with demand for their time (although this seems to have improved in the last couple of weeks), but when you do act why can't you spend your time in the right way? Perception and judgement are important in mod decisions, which is why we may not agree - but surely your job is to explain yourselves in detail when questioned rather than to bypass the issue and make us think that you are all corrupt.
Beppe very well said. I was the one who made the kobe post and yet i have no clue why it was pulled. Yes kobe did post on it and yes he said some bad stuff and his posts were removed but yet the entire post is gone now. Its pretty clear as to why they pulled it cause they cant stop him form doing stuff he does. I do appreciate ur point and will back u up on this even though its pointless to try anymore cause nothing will ever change.
Beppe, you hit the nail on the head. well said
LOL Beppe,
Your at that "Heads I win,Tails you lose" game again.

"Mod team has a struggle in keeping up with demand for their time

"But surely your job is to explain yourselves in detail when questioned"

I thought a Mods job was to Moderate.

:p
LOL@Peter... your ability to take things out of context is second to none :D

The whole point is that time is so valuable that is should be spent in the right way. Rather than wasting it it to delete posts (which will just bring about more questions), time could be used to post an explanation answering the questions asked. How about "We accept Kobe is a problem, and we are using the available tools to restrict him where possible" to lock the subject? Maybe, "There has been a compaint against Cornish Git, so we decided that it was possibly offensive." - I don't think that this is an unreasonable expectation.
Meant to add

Without an explanation it seems like something suspect is happening. Maybe Veriac is wrong about Cornish Git, or Kobe is a friend of OPs? Probably not, but how do we know?
Sorry, that was just an example. I don't know Kobe or Ameen and I am not making a statement about either.
;) I see what your saying Beppe, but there are no dark secrets as to why the Mods do what they do.

The answers are all in the Rules of use,for this site.

Granted , they are only human , and
sometimes
make mistakes. These mistakes are generally sorted.

;)
