Citizens by clicks... the antiballast rush!
Citizens by clicks... the antiballast rush!
Citizens by clicks... the antiballast rush!
After ranking pretty high on the "Citizens by clicks" toplist with all my other characters (Callum3 #25, Merbyl2 #12, LuckyFool #6), I created a brand new character dedicated to minimizing the number of clicks it would take me to pay off my debt to the king. I did it on click 76 (character name: Trader). With what I now know, I suspect it can be done in under 30 clicks.

If you give (or gave) it a shot, post your results here!

Sandy
dont know who u are. but I did it in 47 i do believe.. but it got erased since my sub ran out. and i do believe shi did it in under that. but who knows.
bye
that is absolutly amazing how the hell did u do that......................76 or 46 clicks........to get 1 million dollars???? thats insane....plz tell me your secret lol...or tell me in private at least
its not hard you have 1 char with over a few mill then you just get it to your new char
HOw do you pass the money between charaters?
Through the market. Buy low, sell high!

In my previous message in this topic, I said I figured it could be done in under 30 clicks. I was way wrong. I forgot to add in the 25 clicks it takes to pay the king! My new guess of the absolute minimum is somewhere around 45-55.

How to Become a Citizen in 59 Clicks

or "Time to Recoil in Disgust About the Absolute Geek that Sandy is"

First you have to create your character correctly. You will have to be able to carry at least one third of 1,390,000 silver in addition to your starting gear. 1,390,000 silver is roughly what it takes to pay off the king, and you'll have to carry it all from the market which can't be done in two trips no matter how you distribute your attribute points (it's annoying close, though). The weight can easily be carried in three and one third of 1,390,000 is approximately 470,000 (for the sake of round numbers).

To be able to carry 470,000 silvers (which weighs 47kg) in addition to your starting gear (which weighs 6kg), you will need a combined Stength and Persistance of at least 3... which means you only have to put in a one additional point into one of them since one is the minimum per attribute. Fail to do that, and you're making four trips at a cost of 8 extra clicks.

After that, follow this plan:

1
. Pick up your 30 starting silvers from your home, leave the weapon there.
2
. Exit your home.
3-4
. Travel to the market. Two is the minimum possible number of steps required to move from a novice quarter home to the market. If all novice quarter squares are considered equally when assigning houses to your new character, you only have a 1/7 chance of getting the house that is within two steps of the market. Further, you have a 2/7 chance of getting a house within 3 steps, a 2/7 chance of 4 steps, a 1/7 chance of 5 steps, and a 1/7 of 6 steps. Since this post is discussing the absolute minimum number of clicks required, I will presume the best case scenario of two steps.
5
. Enter the market.
6
. Buy something for 30 (at 50%).
7
. Sell it for 1800 (at 3000%).
8
. Pick up your money from the market.
9
. Buy something for 1800 (at 50%).
10
. sell it for 108,000 (at 3000%).
11
. Pick up your money from the market.
12
. Buy something for 108,000 (at 50%).
13
. Sell it for at least 1,400,000. Notice that you could sell it for a maximum of 6,480,000. This is obviously not required. The point, however, is that you have a fair amount of wiggle room when buying and selling. You don't always have to buy at 50% and sell at 3000%.
14
. Pick up your money from the market. You won't be able to carry it all, but take what you can.
15
. Exit the market.
16
. Move to the city center.
17
. Enter the bank.
18
. Deposit all your money in the bank.
19
. Exit the bank.
20
. Move to the market.
21
. Enter the market.
22-29
. Repeat steps 14-21.
30-34
. Repeat steps 14-18.
35-59
. Pay off the king.

I just deleted a character to try out my theory. I made it in 60 clicks because my house was three steps away from the market instead of the ideal two.

There you have it. It's now a science.

Sandy
Way to put theory into practice. I'm impressed!
Since it takes several clicks to exit the market and go to the bank to deposit the money and you have to do it in three trips, couldn't you cut the number of clicks significantly by transferring the money directly from the market to the bank? It is true you have to pay for the sherpa service, but, as you pointed out, you have plenty of wiggle room regarding the money.

alpie
That study brought back flashes of the legendary Donimoes. Nice job.
> couldn't you cut the number of clicks significantly by

Hey, I had no idea that button was there! Thanks, alpie! That idea shaves off 17 clicks from the minimum! It also significantly reduces the risk of being attacked or robbed while moving from building to building. (Now if only there was a way to pay the king in one click!)

Okay, so the Sherpas charge you 5% (at least according to the fee amount listed on the screen when you use the service) and the bank usually charges you 10% for a deposit. Unfortunately, their fees are added together, meaning 15% is subtracted from your money rather than one subtraction of 5% followed by one subtraction of 10%. This means the combination of the services costs you 0.5% more than you were expecting, although who gets the extra 5 silvers per 1000 will forever remain a mystery. (Personally, I suspect the developers are skimming the extra into their own personal bank accounts! "Who's gonna notice that a few pennies went missing!?")

Anwyay. The upshot is that you have to have transfer about 1,470,600 from the market to the bank using the Sherpa service. A transfer of 1,470,600 will give you exactly 1,250,010 in your account, 10 more than what you need to pay the king. If I were attempting this (and I'm sure I will sooner than later), I'd transfer at least 1.5 million, just to be sure that all this untested math is correct!

Here's the new list from click 13 onward:

13
. Sell it for at least 1,470,600. Notice that you could sell it for a maximum of 6,480,000. This is obviously not required. The point, however, is that you have a fair amount of wiggle room when buying and selling. You don't always have to buy at 50% and sell at 3000%.
14
. Transfer all your money from the market to the bank using the Sherpa service (thanks alpie!).
15
. Exit the market.
16
. Move to the city center.
17
. Enter the bank.
18-42
. Pay off the king.

So, who's going to try it?!

Sandy
Yeah, I know, "don't resurrect old threads".

I thought people might want to know that this almost worked. I applied the above plan today, and made it in 44 clicks. One click was lost due to initial house placement, but I have no idea where the other click went.

Sandy
Jyust out of curiosity, what do you buy and sell. there isnt a guaranteed sale at 3000% is there?

Thats it or i dont know the market very well
It will be a very rare day indeed when someone buys an item from you at 3000% immediately after you just bought it at 50%. You need a rich benefactor to make this work out. You buy and sell between the two characters until the new character has enough money from the rich one.

I used a poisonbag as the first step, 6 silver mail shirts as the second step, and a composium hole as the third step.

The items in the first two steps were chosen because their market "slots" were relatively clear. With the rich character I was able to buy all the extra items in the slot at 50%, which meant I didn't lose any extra money buying up someone's garbage at 1000%.

The composium hole in the third step was chosen because the rich character just happened to have one for sale and it's 50% price just happened to be 100k... 8k less than the new character had to spend at that point.

Sandy
You can actually achieve it in 29 clicks without even needing to use the market :D:D
I find that hard to believe but as you said it i instantly trust you. How is that possible without using the market?
I can't imagine how. You've got to click the "transfer money to the king's account" button 25 times...

But that aside, if you're talking about using the casino to win the money, don't forget that you have to carry it all, and that you can barely carry about half the required amount at any one time even if you put all your points into strength and persistance.

Sandy
you need a lot of luck, a suitably placed house, and a crowbar ;)
Actually i cant count.

You need to get the balloon, a Reward of treasure or better, and yer set to go.

You would need yer character with all the money to keep buying houses until the location matches the current square of the recipient so you can rob it in 1 click for 600k coins each time.

it takes 25 clicks to actually pay the king, and the rest of it (WITHOUT using the market) will total
49 clicks
.
Ah! Well, I think you'd be surprised at how many clicks that actually would take. First off, assuming you put all your starting points into Strength and Persistence, you can only carry 66kgs. You have to be able to carry 625,000 silvers (half of what it takes to deposit and pay the king) and a crowbar. The crowbar is 2kgs and the silvers are 62.5. This means you only have 1.5 kgs to play with, meaning you have to spend an extra click to drop all the stuff you start with.

Here we go. Assuming your home is in the SE newbie district location (the best possible situation):

1. Click the "put worn items into your backpack" button.
2. Pick up the silvers in your home.
3. Leave you home. Go to inventory screen, drop everything except the silvers.
4. Go to the CC.
5. Enter the general store.
6. Buy a crowbar.
7. Exit the store.
8. Go W to the fighters district.
9. Rob once, find at least 625,000 silver.
10. Go to the CC.
11. Enter the bank.
12. Deposit the silver.
13. Exit the bank.
14-18. Repeat steps 8-12.
19-43. Pay off the king.

Takes one extra click and an incredible amount of luck.

Sandy
you forgot the clicks used to buy the skill ;)
Good point. There's always something, I guess. All in all, that would certainly be a slower method of transferring money between characters, but far more entertaining.

Sandy
WTG sandy was wondering when u would get around to it ;)

congrats :)

ria:p
1. Click the "put worn items into your backpack" button.
2. Pick up the silvers in your home.
3. Leave you home. Go to inventory screen, drop everything except the silvers.

How about this:

1. Pick up the silvers in your home.
2. Leave your home. Go to the inventory screen, replace weapons/armor with 1 silver each, then drop weapons/armor.

:D
It costs something like 200 silver to buy robbing skill, but you only start with like 30 silver, how do you get the extra 170 silver?
This is assumingg you start 1 block north of CC, with dwarf pickaxe in your house.

preliminary steps:

a. clear dwarf pickaxe and fodder from market

b. put 83 pieces of fodder on market for 250

steps with character:

0. assign 10 pers, 6 str to character

1. take dwarf pickaxe from house

2. leave house

3. go to cc

4. go to market

5. enter market

6. sell dwarf pickaxe for 600

(benefactor buys pickaxe)

7. take the 600 silvers from market

8. buy 2 pieces of fodder from benefactor

9. sell 2 pieces of fodder for 15000 each

(benefactor buys both fodder, puts them back on the market)

10. take 30,000 silvers from market

11. buys 83 pieces of fodder

12. sells fodder for 15000 each

(benefactor buys all the fodder)

13. (now char has 1.245 million in the market) take money from market (should be able to carry more than half)

14. exit market

15. go to cc

16. Enter bank

17. Deposit the money

18. Exit bank

19. go to market

20. enter market

21. take the remaning amount of money

22. exit market

23. go to cc

24. enter bank

25. deposit money

26 to 50. pay the king

51. exit bank

52. enter castle

52. enter houses

53 to 55. leave larkinor.

But there is the flaw in the plan, V was trying to do it without the market... Casino maybe?
Ok, I revised it using sherpa service, saves about 10 clicks.
steps with character:

0. assign 10 pers, 6 str to character

1. take dwarf pickaxe from house

2. leave house

3. go to cc

4. go to market

5. enter market

6. sell dwarf pickaxe for 600

(benefactor buys pickaxe)

7. take the 600 silvers from market

8. buy 2 pieces of fodder from benefactor

9. sell 2 pieces of fodder for 15000 each

(benefactor buys both fodder, puts them back on the market)

10. take 30,000 silvers from market

11. buy 86 pieces of fodder

12. sell fodder for 15000 each

(benefactor buys all the fodder)

13. (now char has 1.29375 million in the market) take money from market (should be able to carry more than half)

14. Use serpa service to transfer money to bank.

15. exit market

16. go to cc

17. enter bank

18 to 42. pay the king

43. exit bank

44. enter castle

45. enter houses

46 to 48. leave larkinor.
