Can't Connect
Wow! No Backgammon? No Checkers? No connection? No communication? What's up, ladies?

Hey,

Thanks so much for sending this detailed feedback. It's truly helpful to have a technical player like you report this specific issue with the consistency—30% success in one browser, 50% in another—that tells us a lot.

You are 100% on the right track with your feeling about server connections and distance. This isn't a browser or cache problem; it’s an international routing challenge.

The Difference in Connection Stability

Our servers are based in Hungary, meaning connections from across Europe are relatively fast and stable. The data only has to travel short distances within the continent.

For a US player, however, your game data has to embark on a massive digital journey—it travels from your home, through the entire US network, across the Atlantic via fiber optic cables, and then through several European network hubs before it finally reaches our servers.

High Latency: This sheer physical distance causes high latency (delay), which is just a fact of physics when connecting between continents.

Routing Instability: More importantly, your data travels through many intermediary internet providers on its way. If even one of those dozen or so network junctions (say, a busy exchange point in New York or London) gets overloaded or has a tiny hiccup, your browser sees that momentary failure and the game connection drops.

This explains why it's so intermittent: some days, your data gets lucky and takes a stable, low-traffic route; other days, it hits one of those temporary slowdowns and fails. The difference you see between Chrome and Firefox often comes down to which browser is programmed to be slightly more patient when waiting for a response over such a long distance.

We appreciate you highlighting this. We are constantly monitoring these long-haul routes to ensure our game servers are set up to handle the high latency and natural instability that comes with trans-Atlantic connections.

Thanks for sticking with us!

Have you used the contact support link as recommended -
https://www.flyordie.com/contact-support?s=hn

Reporting the issue there allows the developers to review your connection data and investigate the root cause directly. Posting here won’t allow them to access the necessary details from your game session.
Dear Moderator, I think the issues are bigger than that. Sometimes the server works for me and other times it doesn't. It's nice to know I'm not the only one. And as a computer geek, I'm pretty sure I'm not doing anything wrong.

The games work in Firefox for me about 30% of the days, but it used to work 100% In Google Chrome I can connect currently about 50% of the days. Some days I can connect in Chrome but not Firefox. Even with cache being cleared, etc, still no success.

Today I can't connect in Chrome with any game on the web site. There must be something fishy. I'm in the USA. Maybe server connections over here don't work sometimes. I don't know the reason, but I'm pretty sure it's not my browser.
Такая же проблема - сайт работает, но ни одна игра не грузится. Кэш и куки чистила, браузер меняла, с другого устройства тоже пробовала зайти - не работает. Что можно сделать?
All servers are currently running normally, there are over 3,000 players online across the site right now, and games like Backgammon and Checkers are fully accessible.

If you’re unable to connect, the issue is likely local. Please try:

- Clearing your browser’s cache and cookies,

- Restarting your router,

- Or trying a different browser

If the problem persists, you can send a report through the support page with details such as your connection type and the exact time it happens so the technical team can review it -
