Hello all,

I would like to request a different game mode for othello: xot. 

Why?
Because the opening is different every game, players will not get stuck repeating the same openings over and over again.

How does it work?
1. The game starts with a random opening of a rather large set of openings (10,784 in total). Each opening consists of 8 moves.
2. The game continues as a normal othello game, so there will be 12 discs on the board and black is to move first.


All the openings in this set do not favour black or white, according to strong othello programs. See source below.
