"Beautiful Eyes"

I won't let you go
He said with tears in his throat
I'll be here by your side
Until you open, you open your eyes
He looked at the beautiful girl
That had radically changed his world
Quietly, he watched her breathing
Crying out to God
Please, don't let her be leaving
The one bright face I have in my life
Is pale, almost grey
But, still of beauty there was still a trace
Her beautiful eyes hadn't opened 
For more than a week 
And her heart was becoming weak
Her body was all bones 
And nothing seemed to be in her
Except her soul 
As he sat there those beautiful eyes
Finally opened for just a moment, though
He tried to keep his tears from choking himself
She smiled and touched his face
Then, her hand fell with eloquent grace
And those eyes would NEVER,EVER open again
He knew his heart would NEVER mend.
