A Word of Respect
There are a lot of complaints about runners, whiners etc. but I think we should also note players on this site who exemplify sportsmanship and the spirit of curling. I played a 6-ender against Aiyanna today. She is a vastly superior player to me, but never denigrated or belittled my misses nor attempted to embarrass me on the scoreboard (a. In the last end, with the game out of reach and holding the hammer, she could have tried for a shot to score 1 on her final rock, but elected to leave the steal of 3 in place. I am sure she knew that this would leave my rating mostly unscathed. I enjoyed a good curling "lesson" and always enjoy playing opponents such as this, win or lose.
There are plenty of players like Anna here who don't belittle people, Hogline Hacker, NotJohnShuster, Gabby to name a few of them, obviously there are more & its great that players like that still play us lowly people so fair play to them.
I'm fortunate in that I play with all the players mentioned and have a great time with all of them. They don't mind having a bit of fun whilst playing and I find I enjoy it more this way. If any of us play a stupid shot we don't hesitate in having a dig at that player and they take it in the spirit intended, they also return the compliment when the tables are turned. Happy curling all.
Lots of players are like that here. Like Wullie said, NotJohnShuster, Gab, and HogLineHacker are just some examples. It's just that these people and their respectful play are overshadowed by all of the negative stuff that goes on in this game.
corect guys, in life have to learn to have respect too, but this value was lost
Really dont know what some people has to do with this game, with harassing and provocative language against others, some people here are obviously devoid of humor and ability to have fun
many have good respeckt in this game realy funny to see that
