Cheating player
The user filho30 has been cheating by passing, and then rejecting. This forces the other player to play a stone that deducts from their territory. He used this technique against me until the score was reversed and he won. If not for this, I would have won. Please ban this cheating user.
i recently had a game in which there was a seki, my opponent didn't see it and marked my stones dead. after a bunch of pass / rejects, i pointed out my view he/she wrote things i took as amusing. i eventually quit and lost by default. is there any other recourse?
That isn't what happened, in my case. He passed and rejected at least 30 times, taking up a large amount of my time, and when I typed to him telling him to accept, he didn't respond except to continue his "technique".
If one's selection marking dead stones gets refused one will have to play a new stone in order to verify that the stones selected are dead indeed.
Indeed, you can be forced to play new stones:
opp: pass
you: pass
opp: marks dead stones
you: accept, mark dead stones
opp: reject
you: must play a new stone
opp: pass ...
You can break this loop either by refusing your opponent's selection (so he will be forced to play a new stone), or, when your opponent does not mark any dead stones (so you can't refuse them), by not marking any dead stones either (the match will be evaluated then).

OP
There's nothing like a simple and elegant solution... or not!
ya but if you do not not mark dead stones either then the opponents stones that are in your territory are not counted as dead, and you lose the territory and end up losing anyways
and filho30 cheated against me too

maybe the system should be changed somehow so cheating cannot happen.
I had the same problem against filho30, he perpetually refuse the mark of dead stones.
