why my points keep decreasing ? like when i play chess after one week i see my points decreased automatically. and second question i see that some people have a ~ sign in front of their points what does that stand for?

You losing points each day. Higher Rating = More Points lose. On 700 you lose 7. ~ means this guy is new & didnt played 20 games yet. Tommy
Hi kdnator There is an automatic deduction of one point (or some other low number, I'm not sure) every day. I think the idea is that if you get a high score you have to keep justifying it or it will gradually whither away. The '~' just signifies that the player hasn't played enough games for the rating system to estimate their strength properly yet so. I think you have to play a dozen or so games before the server thinks it has enough data to display a normal rating without the '~'.
